• Burger King Offers 'Unhappy' Meal To Encourage Depression Awareness
    Burger King is letting restaurant-goers know it’s OK to be sad with the launch of “Unhappy Meals” in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Month. “The campaign aims to spread awareness that it’s “OK to not be OK”, through five different ‘expressions’ on what are essentially adult Happy Meals without toys" including the Pissed Meal, Blue Meal and Salty Meal, according to ConsequenceofSound.net.
  • Nordstrom Adds Mini-Outposts In NYC
    Nordstrom is opening two small outposts in New York as part of its new Nordstrom local chain.The two smaller stores will not carry merchandise, but will be hubs for online pickups and returns, as well as services like tailoring and personal styling. The size of the shops will be comparable to a Lululemon or a Dunkin’. "The company’s research showed that many Manhattanites don’t particularly want to leave their neighborhoods if they can help it, a crucial reason for adding the hubs,” per The New York Times.
  • Ford Follows GM, Volvo With In-Vehicle Amazon Deliveries
    The Key by Amazon In-Car delivery service is now available on newer Ford and Lincoln models. The service provides another opening for Ford as it wades into the world of ecommerce, according to Bloomberg. Ford has also formed partnerships with mobile car washes ordered on the FordPass and LincolnWay apps to clean cars on the spot with roving crews, and is in discussion with other retailers and grocery chains to expand delivery services to the car.
  • Amazon Sets The Bar For Free, Fast Delivery
    Amazon announced plans to invest $800 million so its Prime members can receive orders in one day. But other retailers weren’t put off by the announcement.  Walmart issued its own news in a tweet, while taking a jab at Amazon. “One-day free shipping…without a membership fee. Now THAT would be groundbreaking,” the company said, hinting at plans to cut its free two-day shipping (for purchases $35 and up) down to one, while making a reference to Amazon’s annual $119 Prime membership fee.
  • McDonald's Trims Late-Night Menu
    Late-night fast foodies might be disappointed the next time they hit the McDonald’s drive-thru. The fast-food giant has trimmed its menu between midnight and 5 a.m. daily at participating restaurants nationwide. But never fear; the chain's most popular items, like the Big Mac, Chicken McNuggets and fries, are still available, according to USA Today. The changes are aimed at decreasing drive-thru wait times.
