“Casper Sleep is facing uncomfortable questions as it prepares to go public — including the fact that it doesn’t make its own mattresses,” notes a New York Post article. One of its manufacturers, Elite Foam, got sold for $1.25 billion to Leggett & Platt, which makes bed parts for several Casper competitors, including Serta Simmons’ Tuft & Needle, according to sources. “It’s kind of funny that is their chief supplier,” the source said of Casper’s reliance on Leggett. “It would increase the risk for me that their supplier has divided loyalties.”

"Instead of buying new hoodies... shoppers will turn to secondhand clothes for more individual looks," notes fashion maven Virgil Ablohn (artistic director for men at Louis Vuitton, for one title) in The Wall Street Journal'slook at the resale fashion trend. "That’s the bigger threat for the industry. Trends come and go, but a broad move away from buying new clothes would represent a seismic change in consumer habits," the article continues. A short history of the trend includes the 1920s introduction of the term “thrift store.”

Boston residents mostly love Hyundai’s Boston-themed Super Bowl spot, but are taking issue with the way the word “wicked” is used. “Viewers have been weighing in on the use of the word ‘wicked,’ which gets tossed around in the ad in a way that Boston ears might find, well, wicked awkward,” according to the Boston Globe. “Wicked is not an adjective, it’s an adverb,” one person pointed out, after the South Korean car manufacturer unveiled the commercial online this week. “Wicked awesome, wicked cold. Nothing is just ‘wicked.’”

The NFL and Fox have reportedly rejected a Super Bowl spot from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Creative was inspired by player Colin Kaepernick, famous for taking a knee during ”The Star-Spangled Banner” in protest of police brutality and racial inequality in the United States. The animated spot from the animal rights group features animals taking a knee and ends with the text, "Respect is the right of every living being. #EndSpeciesism.” Fox and the NFL have not commented publicly on PETA's allegations.
