    ComScore's Ad Metrix service showed that 190.5 billion display ads were delivered to Brazil's Internet population during the first quarter of 2012. Dafiti.com.br and Netshoes.com.br ranked as the top display advertisers in March 2012 with each delivering upwards of 2 billion impressions. ComScore, which introduced its Ad Metrix service in Brazil earlier this year, found that during the first quarter of 2012, 190.5 billion display ads were delivered in Brazil, as 17 individual advertisers delivered more than 1 billion impressions during that time period.
  • Jeep Wrangler Faces A Recall
    The risk of fire is forcing Jeep to recall nearly 87,000 Wranglers in the U.S., Canada and other parts of the world. About 68,000 of those were sold in the United States, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The government has received reports of 14 fires - though no claims of injuries or fatalities -- connected to the problem.
  • 7-Eleven Brimming With Expansion Plans
    7-Eleven Inc. is on track to have a record growth year with plans on the drawing board to add more units than it did in 2011. Last year It had 4,600 stores worldwide. Approximately 600 additional stores were built, acquired or transitioned from another business to the 7-Eleven banner in the United States and Canada alone in 2011. The convenience store retailer plans to surpass that stat by adding at least 630 news stores to its portfolios in those two countries by the end of the year.

    "Battleship" cost Universal Pictures $209 million to make, but grossed just $25.3 million, finishing a distant second to the third weekend of Disney's "The Avengers," according to Sunday estimates. The debut of "Battleship" - whose ticket sales were about 40% lower than some predictions - was even worse than the $30.2-million March opening of the Edgar Rice Burroughs disaster "John Carter."

Reportedly, his next film will be about the luxury brand's early years and the people who transformed Rolls into as much a legend as an automobile company.   • Subway Has Expansion Plans
    Subway said it plans to open 1,200 new North American locations this year. It is exploring opportunities in traditional shopping centers, malls and freestanding locations as well as non-traditional venues such as hospitals, colleges, sports arenas and airports. Since January, Subway has opened nearly 900 new stores in 58 countries, 42 U.S. states and 7 Canadian provinces.
  • The Truth About Facebook Ads
    Nearly half of Facebook users will never click on ads. The survey could have come at a better moment for the social network. Conducted by Greenlight, the study found that 44% of Facebook users "never" or will never click on ads or sponsored posts while using the social media site. In the study titled "2011-2012 Search & Social Survey," Greenlight queried a group comprising people of all ages and occupations, including students, lawyers, accountants, and medical staff. Only 3% of respondents said they "regularly" click on ads and 10% admitted they "often" fall for the ads.

    Author David Leddick crituqes "Mad Men"'s view of what it was like to be gay in advertising in the 50's and 60's. Leddick, who went from writer to creative director from the 50's through the 80's, says the show's representation of the single gay character, Salvatore, isn't accurate.
