If you don't include iPads and iPhones, the Mac versus PC ration isn't so rosy for Apple. The chart at the jump shows Microsoft-powered computers have regained the ground lost to Mac during Apple's ascendance. If the data included iPhones and iPads, it would be a different picture. That would actually be a more accurate picture given the fact that the boundaries between computers, tablets and smartphones are getting more and more arbitrary.

Best Buy founder and former chairman Richard Schulze is not expected to present a buyout or other proposal to the company's board anytime soon. Schulze owns more than 20% of the company's shares. He abruptly resigned from the Best Buy board last June and said he was exploring options for his ownership stake.

U.K. retailing giant Tesco PLC could give up its American supermarket venture, Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market, if the chain continues to disappoint and not make a profit. In remarks at the company's annual meeting, Tesco CEO Philip Clarke said: "If we see there is no chance of success, we'll do as we've just done in Japan," referring to Tesco's deal this month to exit that market.

Bob Diamond has resigned as CEO of Barclays in the midst of a rate-rigging scandal. The American executive, highly regarded among his peers in the banking industry, said in an official statement today that "external pressure placed on Barclays has reached a level that risks damaging the franchise."

General Motors is holding talks with Facebook about a return to advertising on the social media giant's website, the automaker confirmed late Monday. Daniel Akerson, the automaker's chairman and chief executive, has held talks with Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg about a possible return. GM has made no decisions, and wants more evidence that paid advertising on Facebook is effective, the company confirmed.

Lexus is now recalling two more models due to the possibility loose floor mats could cause accelerator pedals to jam, leading the vehicles to surge out of control. The two models covered by the latest recall are the Lexus RX 350 and RX 450h hybrid, with a total of nearly 134,000 vehicles involved. While the new actions are small compared to the millions of vehicles covered by earlier acceleration problems, it does put Toyota back in the wrong spotlight.
