Michael Francis, who was ousted as president of J.C. Penney Co. in June, is reportedly going to Gap Inc. He will serve as a marketing creative advisor for Gap, and join the chain in the advisory role on Sept. 16. Francis was chief marketing officer of Target Corp. He left Target in 2011 to join J.C. Penney.

HBO and ESPN have announced a multi-year, multi-tiered boxing programming and marketing agreement which includes coordinated support for major pay-per-view boxing events, including sharing programming content, cross-promotion elements, highlight packages and additional assets to be featured across multiple ESPN and HBO platforms. As part of the agreement, ESPN and ESPN Deportes' news and information platforms, led by SportsCenter, will have access to key content and information surrounding marquee HBO Pay-Per-View boxing events, including fighter interviews. In addition, ESPN Deportes Television and ESPN3 will carry live fighter weigh-ins plus pre- and post-fight press conferences for HBO-Pay-Per-View Events and HBO's 24/7 series.

The Kroger Co., the world's largest grocer, reports it saved enough energy from efficiencies to power every single home - more than 175,000 of them - in the city of Columbus, Ohio, for a year. The savings come from a company-wide sustainability effort that's being led by group vice president Lynn Marmer. Kroger also has 19 manufacturing plants that operate without sending any waste to landfills. And, the company has just begun converting unsold organic food into renewable energy that powers its Ralphs/Food 4 Less facilities. Marmer answers questions at the jump.

As it preps the release of Windows 8 and its Surface tablet coming in October, Microsoft will also open 32 new retail locations in the U.S. and Canada. Last month, Microsoft job listings were discovered for 12 pop-up stores. However, Monday's list is much larger, and shows the company is serious about expanding its retail footprint.

A new report from Citi analyst Mark Mahaney notes that, according to ComScore, Facebook's unique visitors in the U.S. dropped by 6% year over year, following a 1% drop in July. He says it's the first decline in traffic to Facebook his firm has seen. ComScore's Andrew Lipsman says that the drop isn't cause for worry. "The decline is due to a U.S.-wide change in our weighting methodology based on newer U.S. Census data," Lipsman told Business Insider in an email. "The decline is due to that, not organic reasons."

Nordstrom Inc. will bring British fashion chain Topshop to Austin and other markets. The 14-store rollout involves Topshop and its men's brand, Topman, both known for fast-fashion clothing made by young designers who incorporate runway trends and street fashion into their pieces. The brand has stores in New York, Chicago and Las Vegas. Topshop officials intend to expand the brand to more than 100 Nordstrom locations nationwide.

The interactive tours will be led by Wal-Mart associates who will help participants learn to compare unit prices, purchase fruits and vegetables on a budget, read food labels and pick out whole grains.
