McDonald's is testing lower pricing for its Mighty Wings bone-in chicken wings and not just consumer interest in its test of the item in Chicago. The wings test that began last July in Atlanta moved to Chicago this week. McDonald's, based in suburban Chicago, has tested a number of items there recently. These include the Steak & Egg Burrito (offered now.)

The Boston Consulting Group, said Wednesday that Richard I. Lesser took over as president and chief executive, effective Jan. 1. He was elected to those roles in May. Before becoming chief executive, Lesser had been BCG's chairman for North and South America since 2009 and head of the New York Metro office system starting in 2000, according to the company's website.

Walmart and Straight Talk Wireless, America's largest no-contract cell phone provider, announced that starting on Jan. 11, customers in more than 2,000 Walmart stores and online at Walmart.com will have access to the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4 on Straight Talk's $45 no contract unlimited talk, text and data plan. Walmart will also offer customers who purchase the phone in the store a no-interest, fixed monthly payments special financing offer for only $25 a month with a Walmart credit card.

According to a new study by NPD, fresh fruit is the most popular snack. Fresh fruit is also the fastest-growing snack category, the research found. Adults 65 and older are the biggest fruit consumers, and teens aged 13 to 17, eat the least amount of fruit. Chocolate is the second-most popular snack, followed by potato chips. NPD found that during the two-year period ending March 2010, consumers ate fruit 10 more times per year than chocolate and 25 times more than potato chips.

Hasbro has launched a "Save Your Token" campaign to retire the race car, iron, Scottie dog, wheelbarrow, shoe, top hat, thimble or battleship. The company is letting fans vote until Feb. 5 for the one they want to keep via the Monopoly Facebook page. The one with the lowest total goes directly - and permanently - to jail. Fans also can vote for the replacement token: toy robot, helicopter, cat, guitar or diamond ring. Google said Tuesday it is teaming up with a New York City neighborhood business group to provide the company's first urban Wi-Fi network. The network will be available free to about a 10-block area surrounding Google's offices in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, where Google has more than 3,000 employees. The area also is home to other tech companies, as well as high-end hotels and nightclubs and a housing project with more than 2,000 tenants.

Kickstarter's hardware projects made headlines in 2012, but film and gaming ideas grabbed the most cash at the crowdfunding site, garnering $176 million. Kickstarter said it attracted more than 2 million backers who pledged a combined $319 million on everything from one-woman comedy shows to iPhone-enabled watches and electronic banana pianos. That's a 221% increase over 2011, and 238% increase over the number of backers.

Last year was the best year ever for Chrysler Group LLC's Jeep brand, which sold more than 700,000 vehicles worldwide for the first time. Jeep President Michael Manley told The Detroit News that is "ahead of where I hoped we'd be" and puts the brand on track to meet its stated goal of selling 800,000 vehicles annually by 2014. Both vehicles are expected to be shown next week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit - as well as an all-new replacement for the Jeep Liberty.
