    John J. Riccardo, who as chairman and CEO of Chrysler recruited Lee Iacocca before stepping aside as the automaker neared bankruptcy, has died at 91. In his autobiography, Iacocca said of Riccardo, "But one thing was perfectly clear: John was sacrificing himself to save the company. He was over his head and he knew it. He blew himself out of the water to bring Chrysler back to life. And that is the test of a real hero."

After Groupon's latest quarterly results, it's easy to see why. The daily coupon site posted an operating loss and net loss in the fourth quarter, as sales rose just 3.8% year-over-year. Those same profit metrics were in the black in the year-earlier period.
  • U.S., Cuba Okay Flights Between Countries
    Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx and Charles Rivkin, assistant secretary of state for economic and business affairs, signed a civil aviation agreement Tuesday morning at the Hotel Nacional in Havana that will allow the first scheduled airline service between the two countries in more than 50 years. Transportation Minister Adel Yzquierdo Rodrguez and Alfredo Cordero, president of Cuba's Institute of Civil Aviation, signed for Cuba.
  • Aircraft Orders Show Signs Of Lull In Demand
    Airbus and Boeing announced modest aircraft orders at the Singapore Airshow on Wednesday that indicated a lull in demand for the big manufacturers after the 2014 show hauled in more than $30 billion of deals. Airbus announced an order for six A350-900s, valued at $1.8 billion at list prices from Philippine Airlines. Boeing announced a deal for 12 of its 737 jets with a privately-owned Chinese carrier Okay Airways, valued at $1.3 billion.
  • Erwin Raphael Is Hyundai Genesis Brand Boss
    Raphael, 49, who now leads Hyundai Motor America's key Western sales region, will manage the summer launch of the Genesis G90, which replaces the Hyundai Equus flagship sedan. It will be closely followed by a lightly updated version of the Hyundai Genesis, renamed the Genesis G80 for model year 2017. Raphael will assume the new position March 1.
