• More Restaurants Do Double Duty
    Sit-down restaurants want more of the stand-up crowd. Restaurants in Chicago are adding bakeries, cafes and markets to fill in the gaps between breakfast, lunch and dinner. The markets, which offer grab-and-go items like gourmet sandwiches, salads and baked goods, are usually housed near (or even in) the restaurant.

    It appears Apple's long-rumored electric car project will stay in the garage an extra year. The delayed rollout could be connected to reports earlier this year Steve Zadesky, who spearheaded the Apple car dubbed Project Titan, left the company for personal reasons. A separate report claims Apple design chief Jony Ive is not pleased with progress.
  • Planned Parenthood Turns To Tumblr To Reach The Young
    To connect with those who were born after Roe v. Wade, the organization and its advertising agency, Kraftworks, turned to the microblogging social network Tumblr. The campaign features stories of patients, staff members and volunteers told through text, photos and video to create a series of vignettes done in the style of Humans of New York.

    Calling it "the fastest way to find out what's happening in the NBA and to have a discussion about it," Twitter has signed what was called "an expanded content partnership" with the league that will bring exclusive NBA original live programming and more video to Twitter, Vine and Periscope.

    Visitors to the double-decker bus, which is disguised as a giant cucumber, will be offered a selection of Hendrick's cocktails as they tour London. The bus, named "Hendrick's extraordinary roving bus for exceptionally refined travel" (or H.E.R.B.E.R.T for short), is designed to offer Londoners an alternative option to the sticky summer commute.

    Brands are eager to have a piece of the exploding Pokemon Go phenomenon, so it comes as no surprise that McDonald's has struck the first branded integration with the Nintendo/Niantic Labs augmented reality game with a deal to create "sponsored locations" in Japan, where Pokemon Go launched on Thursday.

This week the company launched Singles Classics, a new place to purchase fiction and non-fiction stories and essays from celebrated authors such as Norman Mailer and Gloria Steinem. The program is an extension of Amazon's existing Kindle Singles program.

    Despite a recent series of high-profile problems, Tesla captured the hearts and minds of its owner group to earn top brand honors on AutoPacific's Ideal Vehicle Awards. The EV maker scored the 2016 Most Ideal Brand Overall while GMC took this year's Most Ideal Popular Brand title. The top vehicle in the survey was the 2016 Volvo XC70.
