In an effort to connect with the LGBTQ community during Pride festivities, W Hotels is launching a speaker series called "Queer Me Out." In conjunction with Cyndi Lauper's True Colors Fund, influential members of the LGBTQ community will participate in panel discussions. Each event will also showcase a photo exhibition commissioned by W from acclaimed photographer Danielle Levitt.

Chevy Corvette Z06 owners have filed a lawsuit against General Motors claiming the cars go into a reduced-power mode while on track after a spell of hard driving. "GM enticed race enthusiasts with bells and whistles, promising a car that could maintain safe speeds and power when tracked, but we believe what it sold them was far from what it promised," according to the law firm representing the plaintiffs.

CEO Tim Cook confirmed in a Bloomberg interview that Apple is working on "autonomous systems" for cars. Cook, who didn't elaborate on Apple's work, would say only that he believes self-driving car technology is "very important" to his company. The California Dept. of Motor Vehicles issued a permit to Apple earlier this year to test self-driving cars.

Developers behind Madden NFL 18 unveiled a new career mode called Longshot. Past iterations of the Madden franchise have featured game modes in which users controlled one player over the duration of his NFL career. However, this is the first time the series has included a narrative story mode.

The Amazon effect carries on. Between 250 and 650 retail stores, including Ann Taylor, Dress Barn, Loft, Lane Bryant, Justice, and Catherines stores are closing over the next two years, according to parent company Ascena Retail Group.
