• Timberland Marketing Executive Stabbed At HQ
    Catherine Heppner, 46, director of global marketing for Timberland Pro, was stabbed to death at the company’s headquarters in Stratham, N.H. on Feb. 9. Robert Pavao, 20, a security guard, has been charged with second-degree murder and has pled not guilty. The incident occurred on a Sunday. Heppner was at work preparing for a work trip she was scheduled to take the next day to Dallas. “There are no indications the two knew each other — and there remains little explanation for what happened next,” according to the Boston Globe.
  • Harley-Davidson Seeks New Leadership
    Harley-Davidson has named Jochen Zeitz, a board member hailed for turning around the Puma brand’s near-bankrupt business, as its interim chief. Chief Executive Officer Matthew Levatich stepped down following the company’s worst sales performance in at least 16 years, reports Reuters. An external search firm has been charged with finding a new chief executive. “Since Levatich took the helm, Harley's shares have fallen 46%,” per Reuters. “By comparison, the S&P 500 Index .SPX has gained 40%.”
  • Twitter Skipping SXSW Due To Coronavirus
    Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was scheduled to deliver a keynote address at SXSW, but the brand is pulling out of the conference and festivals for 2020 over coronavirus concerns. In past years, Twitter has hosted speakers and events at its "Twitter House.” Twitter has suspended all non-critical business travel and events. The festival is scheduled for March 13-21 and as of March 1, it is still a go.
