    Inspired by an employee who had suffered a stroke and lost the use of one hand. Nike designer Tobie Hatfield created a shoe that required limited dexterity to don. “By 2015, that prototype—a gift to a single employee—evolved into Flyease,” according to Fast Company. Six years later, Nike is taking Flyease to its next stage with the Flyease Go, which will premiere in a gradual rollout this year for $120.
  • Harley-Davidson Plans Fail To Impress Wall Street
    Harley-Davidson shares plunged after it posted a surprise loss in the fourth quarter and unveiled a turnaround plan that failed to impress Wall Street. Revenue from motorcycles and related products fell 39% in the fourth quarter to $531 million as Harley reduced inventory and shifted its release of new models from fall to the first quarter of this year. A five-year strategic plan was light on details, and the revenue and profit targets were more modest than investors expected, Gerrick Johnson, an analyst with BMO Capital Markets in New York, told Bloomberg.

    Mandatory COVID-19 testing for international arrivals into the United States has gone into effect, and the U.S. is considering a similar rule for domestic travel. “We’re actively looking at it,” said Marty Cetron, director for the CDC’s Division of Global Migration and Quarantine. “We realize that there’s been a dramatic evolution and increase in both testing platforms and testing capacity.   • Walmart Expands Pet Offerings, Teams With Nationwide Pet Rx Express
    Walmart is partnering with a national pet insurer to offer savings for pet owners when filling their pet prescription medications at the retailer’s 4,700 pharmacies. The new service, Nationwide Pet Rx Express, will offer saving a streamlined claims process. The company currently has 900,000 insured pets. In November, Walmart announced new pet sitting and dog walking services through Rover, a website and app that provides access to pet caretakers.
  • Ford, Google Partner For In-Vehicle Technology
    Ford and Google are entering into a six-year deal that will make Google responsible for much of the automaker’s in-vehicle connectivity, as well as cloud computing and other technology services. “Google is expected to assist Ford with everything from in-car infotainment systems and remote, or over-the-air, updates to using artificial intelligence,” according to CNBC. “Under the deal, Ford and Lincoln vehicles will sport Android, the Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play starting in 2023, and Google’s cloud will enable other types of services.”
