    The cannabis industry is "struggling to boost a potentially lucrative market that centers on persuading Americans to drink their weed, according to Politico. "Many of the world’s biggest beer companies — Anheuser-Busch InBev, Pabst Brewing Company, Constellation Brands" -- have developed cannabis drinks, but there are still "plenty of policy, social and logistical hurdles."

    The 1,500- store Church’s Chicken chain has been sold to High Bluff Capital Partners and other supporting investment funds for an undisclosed sum. Private equity firm FFL Partners "has been shopping the brand for some time," according to Nation's Restaurant News. "Under the agreement, the Atlanta-based quick-service brand will be operated by REGO Restaurant Group, the platform High Bluff Capital Partners created in 2018 to acquire Quiznos and Taco Del Mar.""
  • Nikola Founder Charged With Fraud
    Start-up automaker Nikola founder Trevor Milton is facing criminal and civil securities fraud charges. He is accused of misleading investors — in particular individual investors — about the technology for battery- and hydrogen-powered vehicles Nikola had hoped to manufacture. In a separate civil case, the Securities and Exchange Commission is also accusing Milton of securities fraud.

    General Motors’ Chevrolet brand has enlisted an unlikely mascot for its Silverado pickup: a cat named Walter. A 60-second TV spot featuring the exuberant brown tabby broke during the Olympics and is shared on social media. Viewers have been clamoring for sequels on social and in YouTube comments. The spot, which highlights the truck’s multi-flex tailgate, is part of a broader campaign from Commonwealth/McCann.
