Google is touting Google+ Hangout in Asia by partnering with Chinese, Korean and Japanese pop stars starting next month. The artists will answer audience questions via YouTube promotional videos or fans can post queries using Google+ hashtags. Google is also rolling out an A-Pop channel that will act as a hub for live-streaming concerts from Asian artists. It will also feature the latest videos from Asian pop artists and a playlist of the week's Top 20. There are also individual tabs for K-Pop, C-Pop or J-Pop.

Convenience stores represent 34.8% of all retail outlets in the United States with their ranks outnumbering drugstores, supermarkets and dollar stores combined. For the second year, CSNews partnered with Nielsen's TDLinx to find the top c-stores last year. TDLinx defines a convenience store as a store that includes a broad merchandising mix, extended hours of operation and a minimum of 500 SKUs. Once again, convenience giant 7-Eleven Inc. led the pack, adding a net 961 locations for a 14.4% increase in its U.S. store base. The other 20 at the jump.

Daimler AG Supervisory Board, facing a troubled European economy and fierce competition from rivals in the luxury segment, has given a three-year extension to Dieter Zetsche, the maker's chairman and the head of its flagship Mercedes-Benz brand. There had been some question about whether the contract would be renewed for Zetsche, who turns 60 in May, in light of problems that include slumping sales in China, lagging margins and the ongoing crisis in Europe. But it became clear that Daimler's board wasn't willing to risk a leadership change at the moment.

Restaurant chains have begun incorporating Twitter's Vine video tool in social-media marketing efforts. Vine is a free application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that adds sound and moving pictures - in six-second clips to the micro-blogging experience of Twitter. Taco Bell on Feb. 13 used Vine to tease the upcoming introduction of its Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos. Other restaurant operators, too, are finding that the tap-and-record snippets take the limited 140-character Twitter experience to a new level.

Well, if you can't make money any more delivering mail, you might as well try the apparel business. The U.S. Postal Service, after last year's $15.9 billion budget shortfall, will debut a new clothing and accessories line called Rain Heat & Snow, inspired by its unofficial motto: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stay these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." The line will "have electronic wiring and capabilities that will allow people to plug in iPods and hear music while they're walking, jogging."

Anheuser-Busch InBev and SABMiller own 210 beer brands between them in 42 countries. It's the result of a decade-long consolidation of suds. The two companies and others have spent about $195 billion buying up brewers from all around the world. Now Anheuser-Busch InBev is working on owning Grupo Modelo. If it does, it'll control 46% of the beer market in the U.S. That's why the Department of Justice's anti-trust alarm bells have been ringing.

Seen one NASCAR racer, seen them all. Especially in recent years, NASCAR vehicles have had to adhere to the "Car of the Future" format. Ford and other automakers have been trying to change that. Manufacturers now can customize 13 individual exterior surfaces to bring the look and shape of their entries a bit closer to their production models. Ford has spent about two years developing the new NASCAR Fusion. It will debut at this coming weekend's opening NASCAR race at the Daytona International Speedway.

Target has teamed up with pop/R&B group Mindless Behavior for a youth-targeted Facebook contest that asks fans to write their own lyrics for a verse of a special edition of the song, "All Around the World," that will be available exclusively through Target. Submissions for the contest, "Your Lyrics, Their Voices," will be accepted Feb. 18 to 25 on Mindless Behavior's Facebook page.

A lawyer for Macy's Inc told a judge on Wednesday that rival J.C. Penney Co Inc and Martha Stewart schemed to develop a partnership that ran afoul of Macy's contract with the home goods doyenne, Reuters reports. Penney looked for loopholes in Macy's contract with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia so it could sell home goods under her name within its stores, the lawyer said at the start of the trial over whether Stewart's deal with Penney breaches her company's agreement with Macy's.
