    Turner Sports has unveiled a multi-platform campaign under the umbrella theme, "Home," which initially supports the NBA on TNT on Thursdays and Inside the NBA. It will lead into elements encompassing the All-Star Weekend this February in New York and TNT's coverage of the post-season. Matthew Hong, evp/GM of Turner Sports talks about the challenges involved with using all of the assets available to Turner to not only keep core NBA fans and marketers interested and excited but to also reach casual and non-NBA fans and brands.
  • Sales Of 'Frozen' Princess Dresses Anything But Frozen
    Disney has sold more than three million "Frozen" role-play dresses in North America this year. The mega-hit animated film by that title premiered a year ago. Disney Consumer Products did not disclose corresponding dollar sales. The princess dresses sell for $49.95 to $99.95 at Disney Stores. According to the National Retail Federation, some 2.6 million children dressed up as one of the characters from "Frozen."
  • SEMA Rocks Performance Cars
    The annual Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) in Las Vegas is packed with muscle cars with wild, cartoon paint schemes and major horsepower under the hood. The show gives automakers, suppliers and specialty builders a chance to show off what they can do with a car and some cool aftermarket bling. Check it all out at the jump.
  • Undeterred By Crash, Branson Says Work On Space Tourism Won't Stop
    Richard Branson who, among many other things, founded Virgin Galactic, won't say if the crash of SpaceShip 2 will postpone next year's flight, but did say that nobody has asked for a refund. Among the 700 who have signed up are Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber.
  • Google Launches Android 5.0 Lollipop
    Five months after Google announced a forthcoming Android update and three weeks after it named it Android 5.0 Lollipop, the operating system is out. It is expected that Nexus 7 and 10 tablets will get the update first followed by Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones. Then Google Play will be updated.
  • Burger King, PayPal Join Forces
    Consumes will be able to use PayPal offline to buy breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Burger King. The company said it would be integrated with a Burger King app so that customers can pay for their meals without having cash or a credit card on hand. The new system enables customers to simply select "pay with PayPal" on the app and enter a four-digit PIN to complete their purchase. Officials with PayPal say the payment option should be rolled out nationwide by the end of the year.
  • Kia And Hyundai Agree To $100 Million Fine
    Hyundai and its sister company, Kia, have set a new record in the United States. They agreed to pay a $100-million fine for providing false mileage rating on 1.2 million vehicles, according to the Environmental Protection Agency and the Justice Department. Hyundai and Kia overstated estimates by one to six miles per gallon on several 2012 and 2013 Hyundai and Kia models, including Hyundai Accent, Elantra, Veloster and Santa Fe vehicles and Kia Rio and Soul vehicles.
  • What's Next For P&G's Healey
    Melanie Healey, Procter & Gamble's departing head of North American operations, may go to a start-up company or write a book. But before her retirement was announced last week, analysts had considered her one of five front-runners to succeed CEO A.G. Lafley. She will retire from P&G on June 30. Carolyn Tastad, the global head of customer business development, has been named Healey's successor, effective Jan 1.
  • Alibaba Says It Will Top Walmart In Trading Volume In Two Years
    China's e-commerce giant Alibaba's online sales volume will exceed the worldwide sales of global retail giant Walmart in two years. In the first half of 2014, Alibaba's total trading volume reached 931 billion yuan ($151 billion). Last year, Alibaba reported a gross merchandise volume of $248 billion on its three major trading platforms, more than those of eBay and Amazon.com combined. The sales of Walmart in the 2014 fiscal year reached $437 billion.
  • McDonald's Game App Extends Digital Strategy
    McDonald's has launched a combo smartphone app/game promotion in Australia. The effort evinces a digital strategy involving up to a $100 million spend. The "Drop into Macca's" (McDonald's in Down Under) can be downloaded from Apple's App Store or Google Play. Players guide a daredevil skydiver to a McDonald's, moving him to avoid collisions with screaming goats and such. More than $1 million in free food will be given between Oct. 29 and Dec. 23.
