• Harley-Davidson Offers Unique College Internship
    Eight college students will get to ride motorcycles and document their experiences during an internship with Harley-Davidson. The interns will be given bikes and taught to ride. Then they will attend motorcycle events across the country, and maybe overseas, documenting everything through social media. The program is open to any student looking to pursue a career in social media, communications, public relations or marketing.
  • Under Armour Enlists 'The Rock'
    Facing financial and retail challenges, Under Armour has gone back to its roots in athletic performance, unveiling a multi-media campaign, “Will Finds A Way” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The effort showcases the importance of hard work, dedication and resilience. Among other obstacles, Under Armour recently was passed by Puma for third in sales among athletic-brand companies, behind Nike and Adidas.
  • Tesla Workers Pressured To Accept Debit Card As Pay
    Tesla contract workers aren’t receiving legally required overtime pay or mandated work breaks, according to a new lawsuit filed in California. The employees faced “pressure” from a temp agency that hires workers at Tesla’s California factory to take a debit card for compensation, rather than a traditional pay check, the suit claims. While possibly more convenient, the feds have said workers can’t be forced to use so-called payroll cards.
  • Lance Armstrong Settles Fraud Lawsuit with USPS
    Lance Armstrong reached a $5 million settlement with the federal government in a whistleblower lawsuit that could have sought $100 million in damages from the cyclist who was stripped of his record seven Tour de France victories after admitting he used performance-enhancing drugs throughout much of his career. The deal came as the two sides prepared for a trial that was scheduled to start May 7 in Washington. 
  • Dunkin' Donuts To Ditch Foam Cups
    Dunkin’ Donuts is doing away with its controversial, non-recyclable foam coffee cups, and will instead start using only double-walled paper cups by 2020. In California and New York, the move is expected to start even sooner, with a rollout this spring. The New England-based fast-food company said in a statement that it’s making the eco-friendly switch “to serve both people and the planet responsibly.”
  • Coca-Cola Japan Intros Frozen Coke Squeeze Pouches
    It's not yet clear whether the frozen Coke pouches, which took over eight years of development and 100 prototypes, will be offered in the U.S. and other markets. Earlier this year, Japan also introduced a laxative version of Coke.
  • Calif. Firms Celebrate 420, Stoner Speak For Getting High
    Lagunitas Brewing Co. in Petaluma, Calif., is set to release its seasonal "The Waldos Special Ale" on April 20. The Waldos also struck their first business deal with a cannabis business. They are endorsing an Oakland company's vaping pen, which of course will be released on Friday at 4:20 p.m. All five plan to be at the company's release party and plan to donate proceeds to the Drug Policy Alliance, a nonprofit group that lobbies for marijuana legalization.

    Porsche is using a milestone birthday this year to pay tribute to its storied past. The iconic sports car brand will celebrate its 70th anniversary on June 8, marking the day the first-ever Porsche 356 was registered as an automobile. The tiny-engined 356 is not only Porsche’s first sports car, it remains one of the most legendary sports cars ever, and so the automaker celebrates its birthday as the birth of the brand.
  • Norwegian Cruise Line Intros Biggest Ship Ever
    Just three weeks after Royal Caribbean unveiled its biggest ship ever and two weeks after Carnival Cruise Line added a sizable new vessel of its own, Norwegian has taken delivery of its largest ship ever, the 168,028-ton Norwegian Bliss. Capable of holding 4,004 passengers, it was designed to have all the trappings of a major mega-resort, featuring such over-the-top amusements as a two-deck-high go-carts racing course.
  • Whole Foods Ends Rewards Program
    Amazon is about to make a big move that will further integrate its business within Whole Foods Market. The natural foods grocer will discontinue its rewards program, in-store loyalty programs and digital coupons on its mobile app and website starting May 2, indicating that it will soon be folded into the Amazon Prime program. The news was shared with Whole Foods loyalty members in an e-mail.
