• Amazon Blocks Third-Party Sellers From Using Fedex
    Starting this week, Amazon third-party sellers cannot use Fedex's ground delivery network for Prime shipments, "until the delivery performance of these ship methods improves,” according to an email Amazon sent Sunday to merchants, notes The Wall Street Journal.   • Pringles Returns To Super Bowl With 'Rick And Morty'
    Kellogg’s potato chips brand Pringles is returning to Super Bowl broadcasting for the third consecutive year, this time in partnership with Adult Swim's animated series “Rick and Morty.” Pringles said it would “test the limits with Rick and Morty, in a humorous, mind-bending animated spot." The 30-second spot from Grey Group will air during the second quarter, leading to a fully integrated marketing campaign with Rick and Morty getting a special-edition Pickle Rick flavor.

    A Beatles pop-up is coming to New York City for the holiday season through Dec. 22. “Sony Music’s The Thread Shop and Apple Corps Ltd. have created the pop-up, marking the first wave of products available under a new licensing agreement for The Beatles merchandising rights in North America,” according to WWD.  Beatles-themed gifts, ranging from holiday sweaters, hats, scarves and tree ornaments to branded toys, turntables and a pinball machine, will be available for purchase.
  • Nissan Partners With Turo For Pseudo Test Drives
    Nissan is shaking up the car-buying experience with a partnership with Turo called the Nissan Experience Test Drive. Turo will provide users in three test markets with an assortment of Nissan models to book just like any other Turo. The cars will come from 40 dealers in Los Angeles, Salt Lake City and Northern New Jersey area. Consumers who opt to test drive a Nissan through Turo will receive $300 toward the purchase of one from the automaker.

    Walmart pulled Christmas sweaters that mixed Santa with sex and cocaine. “We all know how snow works. It’s white, powdery and the best snow comes straight from South America," the description read. "That’s why Santa really likes to savor the moment when he gets his hands on some quality, grade A, Colombian snow.” Walmart Canada apologized and removed several holiday sweaters sold by a third-party seller, including one featuring an image of Santa Claus seated at a table with three white lines that appeared to be cocaine.

    General Mills is adding heart shapes to Honey Nut Cheerios and original Cheerios in an effort to propel heart health conversations, officials shared exclusively with USA Today. “The new limited-edition boxes are already starting to show up on store shelves and will be available nationwide in January, a time when healthy eating returns to the forefront with New Year's resolutions,” according to the newspaper.
  • Toyota CEO To Retire April 1
    Toyota Motor North America CEO Jim Lentz, 64, is stepping down next year after a 38-year automotive career. Replacing him on April 1 is the company’s North America chief operating officer, Tetsuo “Ted” Ogawa. Lentz oversaw many changes at the automaker, including moving its North American headquarters from California to Texas.
