Rockport has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy for the second time, about a month after alerting state officials it may permanently close its West Newton, Massachusetts headquarters this summer. "Rockport’s private equity owners at Charlesbank Capital Partners started trying to sell the company last year, according to documents filed Wednesday in bankruptcy court in Delaware. Reorganizing the company’s debts via Chapter 11 will buy Rockport some time to sell at least part of the company, such as its shoe designs and brands. It also leaves open the possibility that the company could endure if a new owner emerges, although Rockport already has …

Starbucks workers in 21 states were told by manager not to decorate for Pride Month, a claim that the company said represented “outlier” decisions by local leaders that did not reflect corporate policy. "The reasons given have varied, the workers said. …

Ford Motor Co. has created a Spotify playlist to celebrate its 120th anniversary. "As one might imagine, there are a lot of songs that have been produced over the years that either center around Ford and its vehicles, or at the very least, make mention of one of those two things in their lyrics," per Ford Authority. "However, in this case, FoMoCo limited its playlist to just 120 of those songs, an obvious nod toward precisely how old the company will be as of tomorrow."

"Target attempted to address the backlash by announcing the removal of Pride merchandise 'at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior' from its shelves. Not all employees are happy with the decision."

Ford Motor Co. has opted to reverse course and include AM radio in all of its 2024 model year vehicles, a decision that is now drawing praise from a group of radio broadcasters. "The decision by Ford and likely other manufacturers to keep AM radio was a significant advocacy win,” said Luke Story, president and CEO of the Arkansas Broadcasters Association. “The ABA, the approximately 4,700 AM radio stations across the U.S. and the 138 AM radio stations in Arkansas are all pleased” at Ford’s reversal, he says.

Ozempic and other weight loss drugs are all the rage, but there's still an important place for WeightWatchers. So says Sima Sistani, the company's chief executive officer, who previously co-launched live-video app Houseparty. In 2019, Epic Games acquired that venture for a reported $35 million. "Sistani didn’t need to work again, but in 2020 she contacted WeightWatchers and expressed interest in advising the company on its digital strategy—planting a seed that would eventually result in the chief executive role," per Wired. "Something about the company's emphasis on community was appealing. It was, in fact, this sense of community that had set the company apart …

Ford Motor Co. has filed a patent outlining an idea for a system that may be used in future Ford vehicles to ensure younger drivers aren’t out past their imposed curfew. "It accomplishes this by using geofencing and a processor to determine if the teen is out past their curfew, and if they are, it reports this information to a parent or guardian, as well as whether or not the vehicle is located within a geofenced area," per Ford Authority. "If the latter proves to be the case, the system would be able to send vehicle travel history info to parents …
