Burger King sent thousands of customers a blank order email receipt, leaving them confused whether the company computer system had been breached. “Twitter users were quick to turn to the social network in a state of confusion over the blank emails, with some even receiving two Burger King emails in an apparent double whopper of a mistake,” per The Verge. “The order emails are totally blank, and were sent by Burger King’s main promotional marketing email address.”

Walmart is partnering with health-and-wellness hospitality company Getaway to open mini-retail “experiences” at select Getaway destinations. “The General Store by Walmart” will debut in August at Getaway Hill Country, in Wimberly, Texas, with additional locations to open by the end of the year. It will include seasonal products that are sourced from Walmart and curated by Getaway including hiking gear, FujiFilm cameras, Lodge Cast Iron Skillets, Pendleton Outdoor Blankets and Burt’s Bees lip balms.

Bed Bath & Beyond is discontinuing one of its private-label brands: “Wild Sage, described by the company as ‘eclectic and free-spirited,’ included bedding, bath and decor items with a boho vibe,” per Sourcing Journal. “Bed Bath & Beyond launched the label in June 2021 as part of its expansive ‘owned brands’ strategy to drive sales. The company added eight owned brands in 2021.”

FreshDirect has retained BAM Strategy, a Montreal-based digital agency, to revamp its loyalty program after a competitive review. The new loyalty program will launch in early 2023. The agency is also responsible for conducting dynamic customer research that will help with content and analytics strategy and branding for the program. Trader Joe’s workers in Hadley, Mass. have voted to unionize — the first location in the specialty grocery chain to do so. The company has said it is ready to begin collective bargaining. Workers have expressed concerns about pandemic-related pay and health/safety measures that had been removed and a dilution of retirement benefits in recent years. Unionization efforts at Starbucks and Amazon locations also provided an impetus to form a union at the store, according to union leaders.

Estée Lauder is in talks to buy luxury fashion brand Tom Ford, people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal. In what could be a $3 billion or more deal, it would be the cosmetics giant’s largest-ever acquisition. Estée Lauder, which has a market value of nearly $100 billion, isn’t the only suitor, per a source. Tom Ford is best-known for its menswear, though it also sells womenswear and accessories as well as a high-end line of cosmetics and fragrances.
