Thirty-seven U.S. states and the District of Columbia will get $68.5 million from London-based AstraZeneca to settle out-of-court allegations that it deceptively marketed its anti-psychotic drug Seroquel. That settlement is separate from a $520 million agreement reached last year with the U.S. AstraZeneca promoted the drug, approved for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, for dementia, depression and anxiety in violation of federal drug rules, according to the states, which also said the company hadn't adequately represented the drug's potential side effects, such as high blood sugar and diabetes.

EBay has been talking to its agency for creative ideas on its $70 million account. The company has not had an AOR, but tends to go from one lead agency to another based on projects. The company's spend dropped $20 million last year, per Kantar, with more than half of that devoted to its StubHub ticket service. The company also owns PayPal, Skype, Shopping.com and Rent.com.

Quaker Oats has quashed rumors that parent PepsiCo is planning to do away with the cereal, saying that the company has just launched an official Facebook page for the brand. The rumors started on Daily Finance, which said the brand is no longer on Quaker's main website, and Fox News ran with it, suggesting that First Lady Michelle Obama's anti-obesity campaign was somehow involved and "may explain why the Cap'n is less visible than he was in year's past." However, the company is apparently mulling a consumer promotion for the brand.

Procter & Gamble, which has been trying to make its laundry detergent packaging more eco-friendly via smaller packaging, may have to play catch-up. Seventh Generation, a maker of non-toxic household cleaners, is setting a new bar with a liquid laundry detergent bottle made out of 100% recycled cardboard and newspaper. Over half of American consumers want products like this from companies they perceive as eco-cognizant, per market research.

Target is wrestling with Wal-Mart's raison d'etre. Two recent price comparisons of household goods and groceries put Target's prices below those of the Benton, Ark.-based big-box giant. In a new study from Customer Growth Partners comparing 35 brand-name items sold at the two stores in three states, Target's shopping cart rang up at $269.13, versus $271.07 at Wal-Mart. It's the first time in four years of the study that Target has hit the bull's-eye over its rival.

Snowboarding star Shaun White has signed on with Kraft Foods to be a spokesperson for its Stride gum brand in marketing and promotional efforts. Kraft says he will be engaged in "a variety of promotional activities throughout the coming months." Stride's tag: "The Ridiculously Long Lasting Gum." The company, which sells 14 flavors of gum, said his activities would include giveaways and social media campaigns. White also has deals with Red Bull, Oakley, Ubisoft and Target, per his site.
