Sir is also shown in a blue cowboy hat in another moment,” per People. The children's apparel launches online Aug. 19 and in select stores Aug. 20.

The $7 billion industry grew 17% in 2020, after roughly 2.4% annual growth over the previous decade. “Even before Covid-19, the industry had been pinning its hopes on 'adult' ice cream, a relatively new category known for subdued sugar and noble flavors such as Earl Grey tea,” per The New York Times.

IHOP is testing beer and wine at some New Mexico and San Diego locations with plans to expand to Maryland, New York, Ohio and Rhode Island in the coming months, Featured brands include Bud Light, Blue Moon and Corona, and Barefoot brand wines. Mimosas are also available. The menu could feature locally sourced beer and wine in different communities.

Chicago hotels saw 10,000 room nights canceled over the next two weeks, all within the past 10 days. Most were booked by business travelers, some whose companies are now delaying a return to the office due to rising COVID-19 cases as a result of the Delta variant. The share of people who reported feeling comfortable traveling dropped from 66% in early June to 51% at the end of July.

Target is launching Kindfull, a private label cat and dog food, in stores and online. It will include more than 50 products including canned, kibble, treats and toppers. Ingredients include pasture-raised beef and fish caught through sustainable means. In support of its sustainability initiative, Target Forward, more than 40% of the products use recyclable packaging.

The economy appeared to be on the upswing, with restaurants and shops reopening as workers began returning to offices. But now the Delta variant and a surge in COVID-19 cases is threatening Manhattan’s economic recovery. “An increasing number of companies with offices in New York, like Facebook, Google and the Walt Disney Company, have announced that their corporate employees must be vaccinated before returning to the workplace,” per The New York Times. “Now, faced with a third wave of the coronavirus, some firms that had been calling their employees back to the office after Labor Day are postponing their plans again.”

Dunkin’ is launching its fall menu by Aug. 18, featuring the new Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and returning Pumpkin Spice Signature Latte, pumpkin-flavored coffee, donuts, muffins and Munchkins donut holes. “Introducing the official flavor of fall earlier and earlier has been a trend for coffee chains,” per USA Today. Starbucks has not announced a date for this year’s release.

Levi Strauss & Co. is buying premium athleisure brand Beyond Yoga. “The deal comes the same week that Wolverine Worldwide Inc. acquired U.K. activewear brand Sweaty Betty,” notes Chain Store Age. “Based in Los Angeles, Beyond Yoga was founded in 2015 to promote body positivity, and features inclusive sizing, from XXS to 4X. The company is female-founded, female-run and over 85% female-led.”

Albertsons Cos. has hired a retail transformation expert as its next president and chief financial officer just a few weeks after announcing a deal with Uber. Sharon McCollam, 59, retired from Best Buy in 2016. She was the co-pilot of Best Buy’s Renew Blue transformation, "which has been regarded as one of the foremost omnichannel transformations in the retail sector," according to Progressive Grocer. Albertsons recently announced it will double the availability of its grocery delivery service in the United States this year via a 1,200-store partnership with Uber.
