Millennial couples are more likely to buy a house together before they get married than their parents and grandparents were, according to a new Coldwell Banker Real Estate survey. Almost a quarter of married homeowners aged 18 to 34 bought a home together before they were married, compared with 14% of those aged 45 and older. It's good news for the housing industry.

General Motors is returning to mid-size pickup trucks next year and considering new names for the line, per an executive at the automaker. The trucks, which replaced the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, are aimed at conquesting Toyota's Tacoma truck. "We're researching the names," Mark Reuss, GM North America president, told reporters. "Do they mean something to people - or the trucks are so different, do we need a change of names, too?"

Generating almost exactly half of its parent's worldwide total, Chevrolet posted sales of 1.18 million vehicles during the first quarter of 2013, its 10th consecutive quarterly record - despite the continuing slide of the European automotive market. General Motors itself saw sales jump 3.6% for the quarter, to 2.36 million worldwide. The industry overall grew just 1.5% year-over-year. That allowed GM to boost its global market share to 11.4%, up from 11.2% during the first quarter of 2012.

Most smalll businesses feel like they are wasting their time on social media, according to a new survey. About 61% of small businesses don't see any return on investment on their social-media activities, according to a survey released Tuesday from Manta, a social network for small businesses. But about 50% say they've increased their time spent on social media, and only 7% have decreased their time.

Korean electronics giant is dreaming up a washing machine that won't require water. But SVP for LG Electronics Home Appliance Division, Kevin Cha won't say how it works or whether "totally waterless" isn't quite right. It's also in the early stages of development. Another LG model unveiled at CES can do some cleaning without detergent or water. LG is also looking at an ecological re-imagining of the refrigerator, with a prototype that can keep itself cool for six hours without any power assistance.

The Qantas PR team has announced it is ditching its Twitter account, @QantasMedia, on April 19 and will instead be directing customers over to their new website newsroom for information and updates. The account is run by Qantas PR staff and has 27,000 followers. The reason behind the closure is being put down to the fact the airline already has a Twitter account, and a desire to condense the information it shares via social media.

The coffee cafe segment is getting as crowded as the QSR business and about as hard, if you're competing in it, to find a point of difference. PJ's Coffee of New Orleans, a 64-unit chain, has done so. Who would think of combining The Big Easy with coffee? The company, which added six new units in 2012, an 11% increase over 2011. Said founder Paul Ballard, "PJ's has all the offerings of a premium coffee caf, but there's a little bit of New Orleans in it," he said. "It comes through in our food offerings and our service."

An emphasis on Dollar Menus, competition and other points of friction are creating an automaker/dealership type friction between McDonald's and its franchisees according to survey by Janney Capital Markets. One respondent complained of "couponing like there is no tomorrow." Another wrote that "every quarter we sell a smaller percentage of our menu at full (and profitable) price." The McWrap sandwiches are selling well but they're an "operational nightmare," said some: grilled or fried chicken with lettuce, tomato, cucumbers and a choice of sauces.
