The situation is so dire that Chrysler Group dealers reportedly refer to the car as the "Vedsel," a reference to Ford's Edsel. Dodge is hoping to change that with a $15,000 cut from the sticker price of the more than 600 unsold Vipers on dealer lots. McAlister's Deli president and CEO Frank Paci has been named president and CEO of Einstein Noah Restaurant Group Inc., effective Sept. 15. Paci comes to Einstein from Alpharetta, Ga.-based McAlister's Deli, where he has been ensconced since 2010. Paci will replaces Michael Arthur, who has served as interim CEO since February, following the departure of Jeff O'Neill.

Hailo, which hails taxicabs via an Uber-like app, has tapped Jimmy McMillan-founder of the The Rent is Too Damn High political party and former New York mayoral and gubernatorial candidate - to tout Hailo's service versus Uber. The effort includes putting him on a float for a fairer riding system and calling out the competition.

CPG giant General Mills has acquired Annie's Homegrown, known for its mac and cheese line, for $820 million in cash. The buyer also owns Pillsbury, Cheerios, Haagen-Dazs and Nature Valley. The deal follows a trend of big corporations buying small brands perceived as home grown and chemical free. Campbell Soup bought the baby food maker Plum Organics last year, for example.

Sony Pictures has named Josh Greenstein as its new president of worldwide marketing and distribution. He will take over duties once handled by Sony Entertainment's former vice chairman, Jeff Blake. Greenstein had been Viacom Inc.'s CMO for Paramount Pictures since 2011. In his new post he will report to Amy Pascal, Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman.

The new name for the pharmacy chain CVS, CVS Health, says a lot about its position on cigarettes. The company is losing a couple of billion dollars per year by not selling them any more. But you can get the cashier to give you a free pack. No cigarettes in the red box, sorry. The packs have coupons and materials inside meant to inspire customers to quit smoking.

The General Motors luxury division, Cadillac will, per CEO Mary Barra, produce an all but fully autonomous Cadillac model in 2017, while also introducing new features that will allow Caddy vehicles to "talk" to other cars and to a highway infrastructure system. While Barra did not specifically name which vehicle will get the new Super Cruise system, it is expected to appear in the all-new flagship sedan for 2017.

In its largest-ever acquisition, Swedish firm Electrolux AB will buy GE's appliances unit for $3.3 billion in cash. The deal gives Electrolux the Hotpoint, Frigidaire and Zanussi brands, with combined revenue of about $22.5 billion. That means Electrolux and Whirlpool will dominate the North American appliance market, with each company controlling about 40% of the U.S. market.
