• BILL LAMAR: McDonald's
    McDonald's named BILL LAMAR to the post of SVP-U.S. Marketing, where he will oversee all aspects of national marketing for McDonald's 13,000 U.S. restaurants. Lamar succeeds TOM RYAN, who will focus his attention exclusively on McDonald's concept development and menu innovation. Lamar was VP/GM of McDonald's Atlanta Region, where he was responsible for nearly 700 restaurants with more than $1 billion in annual sales. He joined McDonald's in 1984.
  • DAVID WEBER & RICK WEISEHAN: Hyundai/Kia
    As a result of "a difference of views on strategic marketing issues," Hyundai Motor America's Vice President of Marketing, DAVID WEBER, has resigned. Weber's departure follows last week's sudden resignation of RICK WEISEHAN, Marketing Director of Hyundai's sibling Kia Motors America. Weisehan joined Kia in the late 1990s and was promoted in May 2000. No successors have been announced for either marketing executive.

    LAURA LANGDON, most recently a Creative Services Director at TBWA\CHIAT\DAY New York, has left that company after three years to return to DDB New York as Chief Operating Officer effective August 1st. While at TBWA\C\D, Langdon oversaw art buying, print and interactive production, graphic studio services and creative management/recruiting.

    Fitch:Worldwide has named KEVIN ROCHE as Chief Executive of its North American operations. Roche was previously Senior Vice President of Marketing and Retail Development for the Travel Retail Group of LVMH Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey.
  • GREGG CALESTINI: American Wholesale Insurance Group, Inc.
    Officials at American Wholesale Insurance Group, Inc. have named GREGG CALESTINI as Chief Marketing and Sales Officer. Prior to joining the firm, Calestini spent six years with Royal & SunAlliance (USA) where he held various sales and marketing positions including that of Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Regional Director of Sales.

    Red Herring Communications has announced two changes to their executive staff. SARA BARNARD has been promoted to Vice President, Marketing, and RICHARD BURISH joins as the Midwest Regional Sales Manager based in Dallas, TX. Barnard served as the Director of Sales Development at the company since March of 2001. Burish most recently held the same title at Smart Business.

    Latina magazine has named DAVID KAHN its Publisher. With more than 15 years of experience in print media, Kahn brings with him knowledge in building special interest magazine businesses, as well as advertising sales, strategic marketing and multimedia endeavors. Kahn joins Latina from The New Yorker, where he also served as Publisher.

    SUSAN WYLAND and SUSAN SLESIN are joining Cachet, the upscale weekend lifestyle magazine, which is set to launch this fall. Slesin, former editor of G+J’s now-closed Homestyle, comes on as Managing Editor, while Wyland, known for her launch of Real Simple for Time Inc., is Cachet’s Editorial Director. Also, BRENDAN BANAHAN has joined as Publisher under founder PETER HAGEN.

    Newsweek-owned Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel has named DEBORAH HOWARD Western Ad Manager and TOM LLOYD Detroit Ad Manager. Howard was formerly West Coast manager of Golf for Women, while Lloyd was the Detroit Ad Manager for Bicycling and Mountain Bike magazines.
  • MARK OLTARSH: Stuff
    Men's lifestyle magazine, Stuff, has a new Ad Director in MARK OLTARSH. Since March 2000, Oltarsh had been Sales Development Director at Vanity Fair. Oltarsh's previous experience includes a year at Details as well as work at Spin, Interview and Request Media, Inc.
