BEN BUCHWALD was named VP, general sales manager and STEVE DIAMOND was named DR sales manager for the New York office of Katz Direct Marketing, a division of the Katz Television Group (KTVG). Buchwald will continue to oversee direct response business adding Paid and Religious Program Time Sales to his new responsibilities. In his new role, Diamond will continue to be involved in all aspects of the direct response short form business.

JACK HARVEY has been appointed to the newly-created position of senior vice president, advertising strategy of TV Guide Consumer Electronics, a division of Gemstar-TV Guide International. Harvey will lead interactive advertising initiatives on behalf of the Company’s consumer electronic IPGs, which are distributed in nearly 40 countries throughout North America, Europe and Asia. He will be responsible for investigating, developing, and implementing worldwide advertising strategies to help drive Gemstar-TV Guide’s consumer electronics business. Most recently, Harvey was the vice president of business development for One to One Interactive, a Boston-based Internet marketing services company.
SKI & Company announced that SHAWN HACKMAN has been named managing director. Hackman will oversee the daily operations of the company's offices in Bethlehem, Pa., New York, and London. Hackman comes to SKI & Company from the World of Outlaws, where he oversaw television broadcast rights negotiations with the Outdoor Channel. As director of marketing for World of Outlaws, Hackman planned and implemented sales strategy for the series.
Scripps Networks named ADAM ROCKMORE as senior vice president of marketing and interactive commerce for Shop At Home. Rockmore will be responsible for developing the selling strategy and execution of SATHtv.com. He also will develop licensing opportunities for the Scripps Networks' brands, programs and talent.
CRAIG CHAMBERS has joined First Marketing as vice president of business development for the technology division. PAUL C. ATKINSON has been named vice president, business development, for the Newspaper National Network. Prior to NNN, Atkinson was senior vice president, advertising for The Wall Street Journal where he oversaw a global staff of 500 people.
Claria Corporation announced that D. REED FREEMAN, JR. has been named chief privacy officer and vice president of regulatory and legislative affairs for the company. Freeman, a partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm Collier Shannon Scott, PLLC, will spearhead Claria's online advertising privacy practices. He will also represent Claria's interests both in Washington and internationally, coordinating Claria's efforts on policy matters.
