Initiative has hired ANTHONY WHITE, Ph.D. as senior vice president, futures director, Western region. White will be responsible for overseeing media research and analysis for Initiative's Western region. He will serve as a primary research contact for various Initiative clients and manage custom research projects. Prior to joining Initiative, White founded an independent research consulting company specializing in programming, marketing, promotional, and advertising research for entertainment and media companies.
Interactive marketing firm Abstract Edge has made three additions to the agency. JANE ROY as vice president, new business director, SOPHY REGELOUS as manager of client services for Clairol Professional and Marriott, and TINA BISWAS as account manager for Disney, Chelsea Paper, and US Youth Soccer.
Zipatoni has hired CYNTHIA SLABY to provide account service for the agency’s McNeil Nutraceuticals account, one of the agency’s recent client wins. Slaby will be managing director of the Philadelphia office. Slaby joins Zipatoni from Domus Marketing and Communication, where she worked on the Oki Data Americas account. JAMES R. HEEKIN has been named chairman and CEO of Euro RSCG Worldwide. He replaces BOB SCHMETTERER who is retiring after 33 years in Advertising. Heekin will be responsible for all the operations of the Euro RSCG Worldwide network.
SARA GILL has been promoted to vice president - strategic team leader at CFM Direct, a national marketing agency and business consultancy. In her new role, Gill will manage account teams that serve clients in Chicago, Minneapolis, and other Midwest locations. Gill previously held the title of senior account director.
STACEY STAATERMAN has been named corporate sales development director for American Express Publishing. In addition to creating cross-media alliances and multi-title ad programs, Staaterman will be supporting the Luxury Portfolio, a new initiative packaging the assets of Time Inc. and American Express Publishing for luxury marketers. Staaterman previously worked at Conde Nast and Time Warner.
TNS Media Intelligence/CMR has named JONATHAN SWALLEN vice president, research. Swallen will lead the newly formed Research Group, responsible for all methods and procedures for TNS Media Intelligence/CMR products, as well as the forecasting and modeling for TNSMI/CMR's multi-media information and services. Prior to joining the company, Swallen was director of media knowledge at Universal McCann.
The Weather Channel Interactive has named JOE FIVEASH senior vice president and general manager, responsible for the overall leadership of the interactive division. Fiveash replaces DEBORA WILSON, who was recently promoted to chief operating officer for The Weather Channel Networks and The Weather Channel Interactive. Additionally, PETER GREEN, who formerly managed weather.com ad sales activities for the New York territory, will now head up weather.com's national ad sales efforts; PAUL IAFFALDANO, previously chief revenue officer of weather.com, now serves as senior vice president of network sales and advertising product development.
