Yahoo! Inc. has appointed DANIEL ROSENSWEIG, a former executive at CNET Networks, as the company's Chief Operating Officer, replacing JEFF MALLETT. In mid-January, Yahoo! announced Mallett was leaving the company to pursue other interests. Friday is expected to be Mallett's last day with the company, where he worked for seven years. Rosensweig will oversee Yahoo!'s product development, marketing, international and North American operations.
EyeWonder Inc., creator of instant streaming video technologies for the Internet and wireless devices, today announced that it has appointed veteran television executive JAMES H. ROSENFIELD to its Board of Advisors. Rosenfield was President of the CBS Television Network from 1977 to 1985, responsible for Sales, Affiliate Relations, Operations, Engineering and Finance. In 1981 he was appointed Executive Vice President, CBS/Broadcast Group, responsible for each of the television network operating divisions: CBS Television Network, CBS News, CBS Entertainment, CBS Sports. OMAR RODRIGUEZ, who was Coca-Cola Co.'s group manager-international media until 1999, has rejoined the Atlanta-based soft-drink giant. Rodriguez left Coca-Cola Co. in 1999 to consult and pursue an MBA degree.
GREG STUART, hired last October as interim CEO of the Interactive Advertising Bureau, will be staying on permanently. Stuart, who has previously worked with Young & Rubicam, America Online and Sony Online, took over for Robin Webster, who left for personal reasons after only 10 months in the role.
AOL named ROBERT SHERMAN, ad veteran and former president of Time Warner Cable Advertising Sales, to the post of President of the unit's Interactive Marketing division. He replaces ROB FRIEDMAN, who has been named to the new role of Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing in charge of integrated marketing and promotions at AOL Time Warner.
