• JAY FRESHWATER: The Weather Channel Interactive
    The Weather Channel Interactive (TWCi) is developing a sales team dedicated to the desktop space. JAY FRESHWATER, formerly director of database marketing sales for TWCi, will assume the newly created position of director of national desktop sales. In this role, Freshwater will have responsibility for both database marketing and advertising sales for the desktop platform. SUZANNE KLARER joins Freshwater on this team as the first of several planned desktop account managers. In her previous role as database marketing account manager, Klarer was responsible for managing pre-emptible sales and database marketing for weather.com.

  • TOM WILLIAMS: Proteus
    Proteus, a creator and developer of mobile entertainment, has named TOM WILLIAMS, director of carrier relations, and MICHAEL MALESKI, client partner. Williams will be responsible for further evolving and developing relationships within the mobile carrier community. He joins Proteus from Virgin Mobile. Maleski’s focus will be to steward accounts and serve as lead liaison between clients and the development team.

    CHERYL EATON and DEANA HAILEY have been named partners at Kelliher Samets Volk. Eaton has worked at the agency since 1994 and is currently the director of strategic planning and research. Hailey joined Kelliher Samets Volk in 2001 as the chief financial officer. She oversees the systems group, which includes the financial, administrative, internal IT and human resources functions.

    TM Advertising has named TOM HANSEN as chief marketing officer. Hansen will be responsible for the agency's new media, business development and strategic planning groups. Most recently, Hansen headed up The Gigasphere Group of Companies, dedicated to creating and delivering branded content to highly focused audiences through narrowcasting on cable, satellite and Internet networks. Prior to that, Hansen worked for Square One, Dallas, which he founded in 1995.
