Home & Garden Television president BURTON JABLIN will be taking on expanded responsibilities at Scripps Networks, effective Jan. 3. In his expanded role as executive vice president of Scripps Networks, Jablin will work closely with the brand managers of Scripps’ portfolio of lifestyle cable networks, directing their strategies for continued growth. Jablin will continue to serve as president of HGTV.

People magazine has promoted LARRY HACKETT and PETER CASTRO to deputy managing editor and executive editor respectively. Hackett joined People in 1998 as a senior editor and most recently served as an executive editor. Castro, who was named an assistant managing editor in 2001, joined People as a writer for the Chatter column.
