MARIA KENNEDY has been promoted to vice president, advertising sales, direct response for Discovery Networks, U.S. Kennedy oversees Discovery's direct response and paid programming sales team and is responsible for all paid programming time and short-form direct response sales efforts for Discovery's 13 U.S. networks and BBC AMERICA. Kennedy most recently served as director, direct response, advertising sales where she led the development of the direct response sales unit for FitTV, which launched in December 2003.

JOEL SPICOLA has joined Turner Ad Group (TAG), a wholly owned subsidiary of Turner Media Group (TMG), as director of sponsorships. Spicola will focus on the sponsorship sales for programming blocks on TMG owned and operated networks, including an outdoor and a motors block on The Men's Channel and a fitness block on the Healthy Living Channel.
