  • Jack Morton Worldwide, the brand communications and event marketing agency, today announced the appointment of veteran creative director and producer STEVE MOONEY to become General Manager of its Boston office, effective immediately. Mooney officially assumes the senior leadership post of one of Jack Morton's largest U.S. markets, with major clients including Gillette, John Hancock Financial Services and Compaq, having been appointed Acting General Manager in December 2001.

    The Newspaper National Network has hired KEVIN CARR as sales executive for the West Coast region. Carr comes to the NNN from Foote, Cone & Belding in San Francisco, where he was group media director. Prior to joining FCB in 2000, Carr was manager, advertising and communications at Fireman's Fund Insurance. From 1991-1998, he was manager, advertising and media at Nestle USA in Glendale, Calif.

    MICHAEL S. McQUARY resigned as president and a member of the board of Internet-service provider EarthLink Inc., citing "personal reasons." Chief Executive CHARLES G. BETTY will assume Mr. McQuary's day-to-day responsibilities. McQuary had served as EarthLink's president and as a board member since February 2000 , when EarthLink Network merged with Atlanta -based MindSpring Enterprises. At MindSpring, McQuary had been president, chief operating officer and a member of the board.

Quinlan is founder and CEO of Just Ask A Woman, a New York based marketing consulting firm dedicated to building business with women. Prior to founding Just Ask A Woman, Quinlan was CEO of N.W. In response to Prebble's resignation, ITV's major shareholders have confirmed that two of their most senior broadcasting executives, Mick Desmond, Managing Director Granada Broadcasting & Enterprises and Clive Jones, Chief Executive of Carlton Channels, will become joint Managing Directors of ITV.
  • HAROLD ITZKOWITZ has been named group publisher of Fairchild's classified advertising department. He will be responsible for developing and implementing classified advertising strategies and revenue growth for Women's Wear Daily and Fairchild's B-to-B publications. He last served as classified publisher/director of special project sales for 11 years at VNU's Adweek Magazines.

  • Agency.com laid off 20% of its U.S. staff this week, or about 90 staffers, as part of a major restructuring. The cuts were concentrated in Agency.com's East Coast offices, including New York, Boston and Woodbridge, N.J. DON SCALES, formerly president of the Western Region, has been promoted to the new post of CEO of Agency.com North America. In addition, EBEN LENDERKING, president of Agency.com Europe, was named to the new post of CEO Agency.com Europe.
