• AOL Time Warner Inc. has named MICHAEL LYNTON to the newly-created post of President of International Efforts and an executive vice president of AOL Time Warner. Lynton will work to further develop the company's international growth strategy through cross-divisional collaboration and the integration of international initiatives, alliances, acquisitions and investments, when appropriate, the media and communications company said in a press release Thursday. Lynton is currently president of AOL International, and will continue to lead the organization and its operations in Asia, Latin America and Europe.
  • Digital watermarking firm Digimarc Corp. announced today that Digimarc CEO BRUCE DAVIS has been elected Chairman of the Board. Davis replaces Philip J. Monego, who was appointed Digimarc Chairman shortly after the company's founding six years ago. Monego announced his intention to retire at last year's shareholders meeting. He will remain a member of the Digimarc Board of Directors and will continue to serve on both the Compensation and Audit Committees. Bruce Davis has served as Digimarc's CEO and director since December 1997.

    Interactive branding agency Ultra 16 has made two strategic hires, acquiring two leaders in the sector: JOHN GARRISON as Director of Strategy and JEREMY SLAUGENWHITE as Marketing Manager. Both positions report to Managing Partner Adam Pacelli. Garrison will work to help guide the interactive brand strategy of the firm's clients, including Sony Electronics, Ryko Distribution, and Young & Rubicam. Slaugenwhite will work to expand the New York-based company's client roster. Lloyd comes to DDB as managing director of advertising, overseeing the agency's growing account list, which includes clients such as Holland America, McDonald's, Group Health Cooperative and Stimson Lane Vineyards. Lloyd, who has 20 years experience in marketing and advertising, spent that last three years at FCB, where he held the position of general manager since 2001.
