Digital View Group has named STUART ARMSTRONG as chief operating officer for the company’s U.S. operations. In his new role, Armstrong will accelerate efforts to expand Digital View’s large-scale digital media network programs with retailers, brands and agencies. Armstrong joins Digital View from retail management consulting firm Euro RSCG Meridian, where he served as vice president responsible for new business development.

Cottage Living has made two new West Coast appointments - LORETTE (LORI) HESS as San Francisco manager and TODD HENRICKS as Los Angeles manager. Hess will oversee the Pacific Northwest and Henricks the Southern California markets for the new lifestyle magazine. Most recently, Hess served as the Northwest advertising manager for GQ. Henricks joins the magazine from DETAILS, where he worked as Los Angeles director.

Nissan North America (NNA) has named JAN THOMPSON, currently president and CEO of The Designory, Inc., a marketing communications company owned by the Omnicom Group, as vice president, marketing, NNA. Thompson succeeds STEVE WILHITE, who will become vice president, global marketing for Nissan effective July 1.

In his role, Cooper assumes responsibility for all endemic and non-endemic sales efforts, including integrated sponsorship packages. Arbitron Inc. strengthened its Portable People Meter (PPM) marketing team by naming JAY GUYTHER as senior vice president of PPM marketing for the U.S. and internationally; and BRAD BEDFORD as vice president, International PPM marketing. The Advertising Educational Foundation has promoted PAULA ALEX, formerly managing director, to the new position of chief executive officer.
