The Executive Council of New York has named JAMES L. ORSINI, executive vice president and director of finance and operations for Saatchi & Saatchi in New York, to its board of advisors.

JIM PORÇARELLI has joined Active International as executive vice president of corporate development. Previously, he served as chief marketing officer and director of client services at MediaCom.

Razavi Global Media has hired STEVE HUNERYAGER as a national sales executive. In his new role, Huneryager will head up sales from the Chicago office.

JOHN BRODIE has joined FORTUNE Magazine as an assistant managing editor. Brodie joins the magazine from Best Life where he served as the deputy editor since 2003.

JORGE MERCADO has joined Terra Networks USA as director of marketing. Most recently, Mercado was digital marketing manager/media supervisor for accentmarketing.

JESSICA KERNAN has been named managing director of the New York office of THUNDER FACTORY. Kernan joined the company in 2005 as an account director.

Fry Hammond Barr has formed an in-house interactive group to provide Internet-based strategy, planning and execution for existing and new clients. DEBRA MARRANO-LUCAS has joined the agency to lead the effort. Marrano-Lucas joins the agency from EndConsulting and Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown + Russell.

LEONARD J. TACCONI has been named president of Discovery Communications Inc.’s Discovery Health Media Enterprises. Tacconi will oversee all aspects of the strategic growth and development of the company’s healthcare media business. Most recently, Tacconi served as executive director of corporate marketing for Merck & Company.

ADAM CHIBIB has joined Internet REIT as chief financial officer. Chibib was most recently CFO of TippingPoint Technologies.
