• Agency Veteran Doug Hecht Joins Grandesign Advisory Board
    Agency veteran and entrepreneur Doug Hecht is joining the advisory board at out-of-home agency Grandesign. Hecht, the former president and chief operating officer at digital agency Digitaria (now Mirum, part of WPP) will advise the firm on M&A, general operations, public relations and business strategies. Hecht also previously served as board chair of SDX, formerly San Diego Ad Club.

  • PHD Promotes Two To Lead Planning
    PHD is splitting the role of head of planning between two executives as part of a "left brain, right brain" model. Rebecca Burchnall brings to the position a more performance-specific background whereas Andrew McLean provides experience of brand-building. Both have been promoted from within the agency. Burchnall, who becomes the first woman to take the head of planning role in PHD’s 28 year history, has been with the agency since 2011, most recently as head of audience planning. McLean first joined PHD in 2016 as strategy director.

    Omnicom has appointed Ronnie Hawkins to its board of directors, expanding the board to 14 members, 12 of them independent. Hawkins is managing director, head of international investments at EIG Global Energy Partners.
