Washington Governor Jay Inslee on Thursday signed what may be the country's broadest privacy law, which prohibits app developers, website operators and others from collecting, processing or sharing a broad range of information about consumers' health without their explicit consent.

"Noncompetes serve vital business and employee interests," the ANA, NetChoice, Chamber of Commerce and dozens of other business groups argue in comments filed this week with the FTC.

Arkansas this week became the second state to require social media platforms to block teens.

"If a company injures consumers in a way that satisfies our test for unfairness when using or releasing AI, that company can be held accountable," FTC Commissioner Alvaro Bedoya said this week.
