A Texas law preventing social media platforms from removing offensive posts would "drive away users and advertisers -- and contradict the websites' own principles," tech industry groups told the Supreme Court Thursday.

Apparently not content with merely transporting passengers from one city to another, United Airlines reportedly may get into the behavioral targeting business.

"Many of the ills of today's internet have a single thing in common: they are built on a system of corporate surveillance," the Electronic Frontier Foundation says.

"Right now the largest tech companies have a monopoly not only on computational resources, but personal data," Public Knowledge CEO Chris Lewis said in his written testimony to the Senate. "The current AI boom is primarily powered by commercial data surveillance."
