For those of you within Austin City Limits who are bummed about not being able to squeeze into OMMA SXSW's standing-room-only sessions -- or to at least stream it on your state-of-the-art hand-held thingamajig -- fear not, I've got the perfect alternative option for you. Just mosey on over to 3M Interactive Lound in Meeting Room 1 of the Austin Convention Center (forevermore to be referred to in these posts as the ACC) and spend some time with Jenny. But don't worry if you can't actually make it there, because neither will she. That's because Jenny is just a digital …

Howdy, y'all. Even though MediaPost has two events taking place in Austin today, don't expect any live streaming, or blog posts, tweets, etc., coming from it. If you ask me, it's a little ironic for an interactive media festival to prohibit live streaming of a publisher hosting an event there, and just smacks against the open spirit -- if not open sourcing -- of the interactive media industry these days. From agonizing over his wardrobe and rehearsed repartee to that warm, slightly weird tickle in his gut, Mashable's Lance Ulanoff goes all the way with his analogy of SXSW as one big blind date. "We met last year, but I really don't feel like I know SXSW 2013 all that well, especially because, as a show, she's about as amorphous -- even unfocused -- as you could imagine." Rather than a one-night stand, however, Ulanoff is looking for love at SXSW. "I ... need to find the core of what SXSW 2013 is about," he makes clear. "For us to …

What does SXSW 2013 mean to Bill Gates? "Useful data. Education data," Geek Wire reports. It was an obvious -- but no less pressing -- pick for Gates, considering his role as co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the fact that he was headlining SXSWedu, the newest SXSW event. Yet, "In his keynote Gates talked very little about the U.S. education work of the Gates Foundation," Geek Wire reports. "Instead, he laid out a grand view of where technology has been applied in education in the past, why it has stumbled, and how he now sees the …

Looking to get in your really big mobile or other digital business pitch at SXSW? Called an "elevator pitch", lasting 15-seconds (short elevator ride, indeed), business executives can display their proposal. The winner gets a chance to pitch O'Neal -- one on one -- during the conference. Videos will run in monitors in …

That's according to Sarah Calkin Ward, director-product leadership for advertising effectiveness at Nielsen. She just announced that during the Q&A session of the last panel at the Mobile Insider Summit. "You will see iPad measurement this year," she said.
