Netflix has begun showing pre-roll promos for some of its features, on an experimental basis. That has some people believing that's the appetizer before the online movie service starts accepting third-party ads. Not true, says Netflix. But really?

This morning, Time Inc. announced its Entertainment Weekly's EW.com will be going behind a paywall, and last night, Kim Kardashian announced that she's pregnant with her second child. Those two news items might prove a point about entertainment commerce on the Internet.
