RICHARD MANSHIP has been elected President and Chief Executive Officer of Capital City Press, the parent company of The Advocate. His brother, Doug Manship Jr., will remain publisher of The Advocate, and will serve as Chief Operating Officer of the company.

Shaw Newspapers has announced the appointment of new publishers of the Kane County Chronicle and the Northwest Herald. MARK M. SWEETWOOD was named General Publisher of the Chronicle in Geneva. He was named General Manager for Shaw Newspapers in April, and formerly was Editor of the Herald in Crystal Lake. JOHN RUNG, General Manager at the Northwest Herald, was promoted to Publisher. Rung rejoined the Herald in May after serving as Vice President of Advertising at the Colorado Springs Gazette. Rung previously was Advertising Director at the Herald.

ANIBAL TORRES, an Advertising Manager with the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel for six years, was promoted to Publisher of El Sentinel, the bilingual weekly of the Orlando Sentinel. Torres was Division Manager for Regional Advertising for Orlando Sentinel Communications and was Sales Manager for El Sentinel's website.

GARY W. RANDAZZO has joined the San Francisco Chronicle as Vice Chairman and Associate Publisher. Randazzo will be responsible for developing advertising sales and marketing at The Chronicle. He comes to San Francisco from the Houston Chronicle, where he was Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, responsible for managing the newspaper's advertising, circulation and marketing divisions.
