    DICK MATULLO, veteran Media Director at Interpublic Group's Austin Kelley Advertising in Atlanta has left and formed ULTRA MEDIA, INC., a media planning and buying service. Matullo joined the Atlanta agency 13 years ago from the Chicago office of NW Ayer. He spent 20 years in Chicago working at Ayer, Clinton E. Frank and Young & Rubicam. Before moving to Chicago he was with Young & Rubicam in New York.

    Havas-owned Arnold has completed a deal to add most of the clients and staff of Panoramic Communications' Earle Palmer Brown's office in Bethesda, MD. About 30 EPB staffers, including Managing Partner CHARLES JONES and Creative Director WOODY KAY, will make the move to Arnold's office in McLean, Va. Both become Executive VPs at Arnold, McLean. Jones will oversee agency operations; Kay will be Executive CD, an open post since Matt Smith's departure four months ago. KEN UMANSKY is the outpost's President.

    The organisers of the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival announced that DAN WIEDEN, Chief Creative Officer and CEO of Wieden+Kennedy Portland, New York, London, Amsterdam, Tokyo, will be the Jury President of the 2003 Film and Press & Outdoor juries. It is the first time Wieden has accepted to sit on an international jury in the past decade.

He rose to the General Manager position after holding positions as Associate Publisher and National Advertising Director. Before he moved to SmartMoney.com, Tosto was the New York Advertising Manager for SmartMoney magazine from 1995 to 1999 and an Account Executive from 1993 to 1995.

    Gemstar TV Guide named JEFF SHELL Chief Executive, replacing Henry Yuen, who will continue as Chairman in a non-executive capacity. Yuen, under a new five-year employment agreement, was named to lead a business unit formed to pursue international business development opportunities. Shell has been Gemstar's Chief Operating Officer since April.

Dunaway was also Vice President and CFO at medical device company Orthologic Corp.
