• ERIC KIRBY & JOHN REHL: DoubleClick Inc.
    DoubleClick Inc. this week announced the addition of new senior level hires. ERIC KIRBY will serve as Vice President and General Manager of DoubleClick's Strategic Services Group, and JOHN REHL has been hired as DoubleClick’s new Vice President of Global Technical Services. Prior to joining DoubleClick, Kirby co-founded and served as CEO of Veripost, where he guided the company's business development, marketing, service implementation and financing activities before its merger with Return Path in October 2001. Rehl was most recently the Senior Vice President of Customer Support at Software AG where he led a worldwide team of 100 support professionals.

    Premier Retail Networks, one of the world's largest retail media networks, has hired PETER CULLEN as General Manager, Consumer Electronics Networks. Cullen joins PRN from ACTV, Inc., an interactive television pioneer, where he served as Executive Vice President of Enhanced Media Services. Prior to ACTV, Cullen was employed by America Online, Inc. as Vice President of Business Development for the Interactive Marketing division.

    NBG Radio Network announced that it has added two new board members to its board of directors: PETER A. BORDES, Founder and Co-CEO of Empire Media, Inc. and STANLEY WUNDERLICH, President of Consulting For Strategic Growth, Ltd. and Managing Director of KCSA Public Relations Worldwide. They replace board members Peter Jacobson and Dick Versace.

    JONATHAN WALD, the Executive Producer of NBC's top-rated morning show "Today," has been fired and may soon be replaced by a former executive of rival ABC. NBC may be close to signing a deal with Tom Touchet, a former Producer at "Good Morning America," to replace Wald. Wald replaced Jeff Zucker, who left the show in January 2001 to become President of NBC Entertainment, and later assumed control of the network's West Coast operations in addition to his entertainment job.     Rite Aid Corporation announced that JOHN LEARISH has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Marketing from Vice President, Marketing. Prior to joining Rite Aid in 1994, Learish held marketing positions at Giant Eagle foodstores and Phar-Mor drugstores. JIM PILSNER has been promoted from Director, Advertising to Vice President, Advertising. Prior to joining Rite Aid in 1992, Pilsner served as Senior Director of Advertising for the Woolworth Company.

    MAGGIE SHEA, Account Services Director at Fallon’s Minneapolis office, recently left the company to start her own consultancy. Shea was in the post for a year, succeeding Rich Stoddart, who took a top marketing post with Ford Motor Co. At her as-yet-unnamed consultancy, she and former Fallon group Account Director Beth Perro-Jarvis will help agencies with new-business pitches. General Manager Mike Buchner will assume Shea's duties during the search for a new Account Services Director.

    JOE ABRUZZESE is leaving his post as CBS Sales President to become President of Sales and Marketing at Discovery Networks. Abruzzese, who has been with CBS for 20 years, has spent the last 10 as Sales President. His contract with CBS ends this month, and he was aggressively pursued by Discovery.
