    Media Dimensions has announced the addition of ROBERT F. SCOTT as Director of Business Development. For the last nine years, Scott served as Group Account Director at Initiative Media/Atlanta. He was responsible for all North American media planning for The Home Depot. Prior to that, Scott served as Media Director with Bozell, Liller Neal, Burton Campbell and Doyle Dane Bernbach, all in Atlanta.

    ART COOPER, former editor in chief of GQ, died yesterday after suffering a massive stroke last week. He was 65. Cooper retired in April after serving as editor in chief of the magazine for the past twenty years.

    VITA HARRIS, EVP, director of Strategic Planning and Research at Draft New York, has been elected to the agency's board of directors. Harris joined Draft in 1996 with more than 13 years of experience in research and planning at N.W. Ayer, Ted Bates and Saatchi & Saatchi Compton, working with such clients as AT&T, Gillette, Citibank, Mars, Inc., Miller Brewing Company, the U.S. Navy, British Airways, Philips Electronics, Colgate-Palmolive and Avis.

While at UPSHOT, Johnston worked on the Absolut Vodka, Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola, Ford Motor Company, Mirage Resorts, Seagram’s, and Wrangler accounts.

    SEAN B. CUNNINGHAM, Executive Vice President/Managing Director of Universal McCann/New York, has been named President & CEO of the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau. He will assume his new post in mid-June and succeeds JOE OSTROW, who is retiring and will become a consultant to the organization. Cunningham has been in his present position at Universal McCann, since 2000. He has been responsible for the New York office, which has $6 billion in billings and a 165-person media planning/buying staff.
  • DAN KEMPKA: Blast Radius
    Blast Radius, a global Internet solutions company, has hired DAN KEMPKA, formerly vice president of business development and marketing at Genex, to oversee its Los Angeles operations. Kempka will oversee the 10-person office and will lead the client development team.
  • KATHY CRAWFORD: MindShare
    KATHY CRAWFORD, formerly executive vice president, director of local broadcast at Initiative Media, has joined MindShare as president of local broadcast. Crawford replaces JEAN POOL, who left last year to join Interpublic Group's Universal McCann.
  • BOB LAIRD: Marketplace Media Group
    Marketplace Media Group a full-service advertising agency, has hired BOB LAIRD as Senior Account Executive. In this new position, Laird will focus on expanding Marketplace's existing client base. Laird previously worked at Landon Media Group in Chicago and prior to that at USA Networks in both Chicago and New York.
