RUBY GOTTLIEB, formerly Horizon's senior vice president, affiliated services becomes managing director, Horizon Interactive and JASON HELLER, formerly CEO of Mass Transit Interactive, also takes on the title managing director, Horizon Interactive. JASON BURNHAM, formerly Mass Transit Interactive president, is now media director of Horizon Interactive.

    DANIELLE BROWN has joined USA WEEKEND magazine as an account executive. Most recently, Brown was an account executive at JET magazine, where she worked on accounts in health, beauty, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications.

    TransWorld Media named MAXX VON MARBOD associate publisher of TransWorld SNOWboarding, overseeing advertising sales efforts for the magazine. He most recently served as sales manager for Option-NFA Inc.
  • HELEN KARAS
    HELEN KARAS has been promoted to senior vice president, Eastern sales at Rainbow Media. She is responsible for all national ad sales agreements in New York, as well as in the Southeast and Midwest states for both AMC and WE: Women's Entertainment. Additionally, STEVE LUTTINGER has been hired as vice president of pricing and planning. Luttinger will be responsible for setting revenue guidelines for AMC and WE's commercial inventory and maximizing the network's advertising revenue.

    BILL GOLDSTEIN has joined Planning Group International (PGI) as director of strategic planning and will oversee creative work, client management and business development, primarily for the interactive marketing accounts. In addition, BILL WHELAN has been named creative director and RICK LAWRENCE has been hired as associate creative director.

Matz joins the company after serving as beauty director at both CosmoGIRL! and Teen magazines. Schear was New England manager for four years at Travel & Leisure Golf.
