  • REVOLVING DOOR: MEC Hires Stephen Blumberg As Managing Partner To Lead Marriott Account
    MEC hired Stephen Blumberg as managing partner to serve as  agency lead on the Marriott Global business.  He will report to Mark Jones, president of global solutions, North America. Most recently, Blumberg served as senior vice president, group client director at MediaVest where he led a cross-agency team collaborating on new business efforts that saw the addition of new clients, Travelers Insurance and Wendy’s. Prior to that, he was vice president, group director at Digitas acting as the point of contact for Kraft’s beverages business and helped launch the joint Kraft Foods One team with MediaVest.

    Alexandra Haack joined Horizon Media as supervisor, mobile strategy, reporting to Sarah Bachman, director of mobile strategy.  Haack joins the agency from PHD, where she worked to develop mobile strategy on brands such as The Economist, GSK, HBO and Footlocker.  Prior to that, she worked at MXM Hyperfactory mobile agency on brands such as Trojan, Nestle, Lowes and L’Oreal. At Horizon, Haack will be working on AEN, GEICO, Little Caesar’s and several other brands.

    kbs+ Toronto named Matt Hassell as chief creative officer, charged with creative for Target Canada and Bank of Montreal.  Previously, Hassell was chief creative officer of OgilvyOne where he led work for Unilever and helped the agency secure AOR duties for Tim Hortons and InterContinental. Hansell started his career with Nick Dean, the president of kbs+ Toronto, at FCB Direct (now Draft FCB) nearly 15 years ago.
