• JEFF HOPKINS: American Profile
    JEFF HOPKINS has been named regional advertising director for American Profile, a weekly, national magazine for readers of community newspapers that celebrates hometown life. He will now be based in the magazine's Chicago sales office and will be responsible for advertising sales in the Midwest territory. Hopkins has over 13 years experience in sales, most recently serving as senior account executive for USA Weekend.
  • ALLYSON DEANE & LISA FRIEDMAN: Dwell magazine
    Dwell magazine has recruited the team of ALLYSON DEANE and LISA FRIEDMAN as Directors of Consumer Advertising. They will be based in the New York offices of the lifestyle magazine. Previously, Deane worked in various capacities at PC Magazine as well as Better Homes and Gardens, while Friedman served in several roles at Ziff-Davis Publishing, including District Sales Representative for PC Magazine.
  • GARY K. LARSON: Addis
    Addis, the independent brand strategy and design firm, announced the appointment of consumer brands professional GARY K. LARSON as Chief Marketing Officer. Responsible for strategic development and public relations, Larson will play a key role in promoting the professional branding services of Addis, which include positioning through integrated brand expression. Larson comes to Addis with over 17 years of strategic and applied marketing experience, most recently, leading the international marketing and communications efforts of digital services agency Razorfish, based in Amsterdam.
  • TRACY WOOD: Ms. magazine
    TRACY WOOD has been named editor in chief of Ms. magazine by the magazine's owner, the Feminist Majority Foundation, and co-founder, Gloria Steinem. She comes to the title from the post of investigations editor at the Orange County Register.
  • DANIEL BARNATHAN: Fox Box
    DANIEL BARNATHAN has been appointed executive vp sales, marketing and promotion for Fox Box. Barnathan will oversee ad sales for Fox Box, the kids programming block from 4Kids Entertainment set to debut Sept. 14. Barnathan previously worked in sales and marketing at ABC for more than 23 years before joining CBS HealthWatch/Midscape, the online health network, as executive vp sales.
  • KEVIN COYNE: Bates Media
    KEVIN COYNE, executive vice president of media and new technologies at Bates Media, has stepped down as the agency is being absorbed by Optimedia. He was an eight-year veteran at Bates.
  • ROB WILK: Overture
    ROB WILK has joined Overture as an Account Executive. Previously, he helped create and manage the National Ad Sales team for AmericanGreetings/Bluemountain, as the East Coast Director. He was also instrumental in designing and leading the new International AdSales Division of the online greeting card network of sites, as the International Director.
  • GIGI VOLK: Budget Living magazine
    GIGI VOLK has been named Western sales director at Budget Living magazine, a new lifestyle and personal finance magazine launching later this year. Volk was previously West Coast associate publisher for Ziff Davis’ Smart Business magazine which folded in May. She has also worked at Magazine Services Incorporated and at Chiat/Day San Francisco.
  • DEBORAH DINKELACKER: The Sharper Image Corp.
    The Sharper Image Corp. today named financial industry marketing veteran DEBORAH DINKELACKER senior vice president of marketing. Dinkelacker was previously senior VP of marketing for Providian Financial Corp. and VP of marketing for American Express Co. Sharper Image's marketing director, Jeff Forgan, will report to Dinkelacker.
  • STAN TAIGEN: Ziff Davis Media Game Group
    Ziff Davis Media Game Group tapped STAN TAIGEN as its new Associate Publisher. In his last position as Vice President, Associate Publisher-West at Red Herring Communications, Taigen oversaw all print sales for Red Herring magazine in the Western half of the United States and online sales nationally. During his tenure, Taigen was responsible for business with companies such as Microsoft, Sprint, Hitachi, Morgan Stanley and Infinity.
