• BARBARA VENTURELLI: Popular Science
    BARBARA VENTURELLI, previously assistant consumer marketing director for both Popular Science and GOLF Magazine, has been promoted to consumer marketing director of Popular Science. Also at Time4Media, MIKE WYWODA has been named as the director of consumer marketing of GOLF Magazine. Wywoda joins Time4 Media from Sports Illustrated, where he most recently served as marketing and business director for SI’s News and Entertainment cluster.

    ANDY MCGINNIS has joined Greteman Group as account executive. Before joining Greteman Group, McGinnis served as a consultant for clients in sports marketing, telecommunications, finance, healthcare, trucking, construction, public utilities and governmental, political, and civic groups.
  • BRIAN MCANDREWS: Blue Nile
    aQuantive president BRIAN MCANDREWS has joined the board of directors of Blue Nile, an online jeweler. McAndrews will serve on Blue Nile's compensation, nominating, and corporate governance committees. Prior to joining aQuantive in 1999, McAndrews held executive positions at ABC Sports, Entertainment and the ABC Television Network, and General Mills.
  • MATT FREEMAN: DDB Worldwide
    Omincom Group's DDB Worldwide, New York, has promoted MATT FREEMAN to the newly created post of worldwide CEO, Tribal DDB Worldwide. Freeman had served as CEO of Tribal DDB North America, and was the founding partner and chief creative officer of DDB Digital in the U.S., one of the six companies that combined to form Tribal DDB Worldwide in 2000. In his new role, Freeman is expected to globally and regionally represent Tribal to the advertising industry, in the press, and at new business pitches.
  • BRIAN BAUMGART: Fastclick
    BRIAN BAUMGART has joined Fastclick, Inc., as vice president of business development. Baumgart was previously co-founder of Pacific Media Project, LLC and before that was a vice president at L90, Inc. (now MaxOnline). Baumgart will drive the expansion of Fastclick's inventory and handle Fastclick's larger online publisher accounts.

    REBECCA WEEKS has been hired by iMedia Communications as content director for the company's quarterly Summits. Weeks has been a contributing iMedia newsletter journalist since October and was most recently director of strategic marketing at interactive agency Citrus.
  • SARAH MURPHY: WWD Media Worldwide
    WWD Media Worldwide announced that SARAH MURPHY has been promoted to publisher, beauty and marketing, of WWD Media Worldwide, a newly created position. Murphy joined Fairchild in 2002 as publisher of WWD Beauty Biz. In her new position, she will oversee the marketing efforts for Women’s Wear Daily, WWD Beauty Biz, Beauty Report International, and Children’s Business.
  • SCOTT KAUFFMAN: Zinio Systems
    Zinio Systems, Inc. has named SCOTT KAUFFMAN as president and chief executive officer. Kauffman will be responsible for the strategic development and management of more than 120 digital magazines that Zinio distributes globally. He joins Zinio from MusicNow where he served as president and CEO, and succeeds MIKE EDELHART who served as CEO for two years.
  • MARY WRIGHT: SMITHSONIAN
    SMITHSONIAN Magazine has named MARY WRIGHT travel marketing manager. Wright joins the magazine from Better Homes & Gardens WOOD magazine, where she served as senior marketing services manager. Previously, Wright worked as the marketing manager for Biography Magazine.
