    ROB WORD has been appointed senior vice president for program development & production for PAX TV. Word will manage the development of original programming for the network, including developing show concepts from outline to production. He has held senior management positions in marketing and production at Orion, ITC, Qintex, Hal Roach Studios, Filmways, and CST Entertainment.

    Captivate Network has added three new members to its sales team, including THOMAS FRASCATORE as vice president of sales, Eastern Region, and ERIC WADE and DON SCHERER as directors of business development for the Western Sales Region. Prior to joining Captivate, Frascatore spent seven years with The Metro Networks/Westwood One Stations. Most recently, Scherer was the division president for Clear Channel Outdoor in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD. Most recently, Wade was a regional account executive at ADVO, Inc.

    JOHN B. OSBORN has been appointed president and CEO of BBDO New York. He was most recently executive vice president and director of integrated marketing for BBDO North America. Osborn joined BBDO New York in 1991 as an account executive on the Diet Pepsi account.
  • NICOLE HLADKO: Cooking Light
    Cooking Light has hired NICOLE HLADKO and ADRIENNE KOLEBUCK as account managers. Hladko joins the magazine from MindShare, where she most recently served as senior partner, group planning director. Kolebuck comes to Cooking Light from Sunset magazine where she served as account executive in New York and Chicago and then as Midwest manager.
  • BURIM NEZAJ: Grey Direct Media
    Grey Direct Media has hired BURIM NEZAJ as media supervisor. Nezaj will be managing various accounts, including Adobe and Xerox. Nezaj joins the agency from OgilvyOne Worldwide, where he spent 4 years specializing in direct and email media marketing.

    EILEEN Z. WOLTER has been named director of business development for Knitting Factory Entertainment, a newly created position. Wolter's responsibilities will include creating targeted marketing opportunities and developing new strategic business initiatives.
  • RICHELLE PARHAM: Digitas
    RICHELLE PARHAM has been named vice president/general manager for Digitas' Chicago office. Parham will relocate from the agency's Boston headquarters. She will oversee day-to-day operations of the Chicago office, assuming responsibilities for finance, staffing, human resources, technology, and facilities. In addition, she will help drive key client relationships and new business development. Parham joined Digitas in 1994 and most recently managed its relationship with InterContinental Hotels Group.
  • GAYLE LAMBERT: SMITHSONIAN
    GAYLE LAMBERT has joined SMITHSONIAN Magazine as travel account manager. Lambert most recently worked at Health Magazine. She began her career at Leo Burnett where she served as media supervisor and media planner.

    Advertising agency Elberson Senger Shuler has named ZACHARY GROVE to head its business development effort. Grove comes to ESS from Concentric Marketing, where he was director of brand development.
  • BILL BUNKER: MessageGate
    MessageGate, Inc., a provider of enterprise messaging management software and services, added BILL BUNKER, vice president of marketing and product management, and YASH TALREJA, vice president of engineering, to its management team. Prior to MessageGate, Bunker served as vice president of financial services for Onyx, where he was responsible for strategy and execution including sales, business development, alliance development, and product management. Most recently, Talreja held a senior management position at Amazon.com where he managed the Item Merchandising team.
