In one of its last campaigns for Burger King (it will soon be replaced by mcgarrybowen), Crispin Porter + Bogusky created a channel on DirecTV that displays nothing but a flame-broiled Whopper sandwich.

At the very least, it will make beachgoers think twice about leaving the beach before discarding their trash. The City of Santa Monica teamed up with Heal the Bay, a nonprofit that works to keep Southern California coastal waters clean and safe, to outfit 500 trashcans with QR (quick response) codes to encourage beachgoers to clean up after themselves. It seems like a no-brainer, yet the less-than-pristine state of the average beach tells a different story.<

To promote the launch of the latest flavor, Gogi White Grape, of its frozen fruit bars, Edy's/Dreyer's teamed up with Zynga to send top FarmVille players to Farmville, Va. to plant a fruit orchard. The virtual will become reality on June 13 when four top FarmVille players, hand-picked by Zynga, will travel to Virginia to plant an orchard.

Twenty-four hours seems like an eternity, yet if I were told to write and record a song in that same time span, I'd ask for an extension. Coca-Cola tasked Maroon 5 and ten aspiring musicians to do just that with "24 Hour Session," a live music event that took place in London on March 22.

Last year, Sony outfitted eight students with Sony laptops, complete with Intel core processors, and challenged them to launch a rocket into the stratosphere, using the technology provided. This year, students will be looking down, rather than up. Project Shiphunt is challenging a select group of high school students in Michigan to find a sunken ship using Sony VAIO laptops powered by 2nd generation Intel core processors. Talk about an example of making learning fun and exciting.

Ravenswood Winery in Sonoma County, Calif. invited 100 journalists throughout the country to join the uber-secret "Order of the Raven." Partners + Napier crafted invitations for the journalists that went far beyond your average snail mail invite. Scrolled, letterpress invitations in cherry-stained wooden wine boxes, sealed with wax and wrapped in a custom-made, black leather raven feather arrived to sway journalist into joining the decades-old secret society.

When I first saw a press release from mobile advertising company Adzookie.com stating the company would pay the mortgage of any house willing to have the brand's name and logo painted on it in highly visible and loud colors, two things came to mind. First, I thought it was an April Fool's joke five days late. I also thought I was witnessing an advertising apocalypse.
