Seen another way, “The Songza deal is much smaller than Apple’s recent $3 billion deal for Beats, which along with its line of popular headphones operates a fledgling subscription service whose chief selling point is playlists curated by music experts.”

No -- Google didn’t take some bad acid, per TechCrunch, but the company did launch a promotion to introduce The Cube, an in-browser "manipulateable 3-D box" showing a different video and audio track on each side. It debuted online Monday with indie dance band The Prese. The Cube only runs in Google Chrome and Android.

In a new ad-free subscription music service, reports suggest YouTube plans to give 55% of the revenue from its new service to labels and 10% to publishers, lower than rival services. Rolling Stone took the topic to the indie artists to find out how they feel about the forthcoming service. One artist, Marc Ribot, a veteran experimental jazz musician, is protesting YouTube's actions as part of a group called the Content Creators Coalition.

Dim lights in a theater will require Google Glass wearers to take off the goods. The Cinema Exhibitors Association, which represents about 90% of U.K. cinema operators, has banned wearable technology such as Google Glass from its members' theaters. The Association asks customers not to enter any cinema wearing technology capable of recording images. Those wearing the technology will be asked to remove it or leave.
Bing Search Blog
Microsoft Bing is rolling out an easy way to discover tweets in its search results. Bing will highlight the top matching hashtag suggestions for each search query. Start typing #dailysh in the search box and Bing turns on auto-complete to finish the query, making it easy to find the most interesting and breaking trend and news on Twitter.
