• YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki Previously In Talks To Join Tesla, Book Says
    A new book by author Mark Bergen explains that YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki in 2014 quietly held talks about leaving Google to become chief operating officer at Tesla. The name of the book, “Like, Comment, Subscribe: Inside YouTube’s Chaotic Rise to World Domination," also details her connection to the Google cofounders Sergey Brin and Larry Page, She let the two work from her garage when they started the company. Anne Wojcicki, her sister and founder of 23andMe, was married and had kids with Brin.
  • Google App Lets Marketers Test Experimental A.I. Systems
    Google on Thursday launched AI Test Kitchen, an Android app that allows users to try experimental AI-powered systems from the company’s labs before it makes its way into production. It will gradually rollout to small groups in the U.S. The first set of demos explore the capabilities of the latest version of LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications), Google’s language model that queries the web to respond to questions in a human-like way.
  • Google Delays Testing AdSense FLEDGE API
    Google had planned to test the FLEDGE API for AdSense on August 28, but the company now pushed the start date to on or after September 24. The API uses interest groups to enable websites to display ads deemed relevant to users. AdSense will expand testing and begin rendering ads on a small percentage of traffic, globally. There is no publisher revenue impact expected at this stage, according to Google.
